Yes this is the way to go. Especially if you're running any kind of class with a breakout, the weather stations that keep sending updates to a pager to keep you informed when you can't get back to the trailer.

Say if your bracket racing and there is changes in da temp etc how do u decide how much to increase or decrease your dial in?

going to start with the lethal thermostat for now, jon and ken both recommend it, i can justify the 60 bucks or so there lol

This comes with experience. Lots of runs on your car and good record keeping to know how it responds to weather changes. The ET prediction software really seems to only work well on the faster cars too, anything slower than say 10 flat seems to vary more with the weather. That's making assumptions like plenty of tire on the car, etc, but most any bracket car has huge tires.
