Thanks for posting this. This is the first I have heard of this. I will be buying one before my car goes back to the dyno.

Im going back to the dyno in 2-3 weeks to drop down to a Reichard Racing 2.8 pulley to get closer to 17psi. I just bought one. Any little bit to help with belt slip is good in my book!

LOL I can't believe a lot of you guys have never seen these! It's quite an old product. It's main purpose is to help fight deflection and bending of the arm under high stress. Some have had the tensioner arm actually break before.

I've had this brace for 5 years.

We'll call this anecdotal evidence...

I've had my Gates belt chirp bad over 40k with this Metco brace.

Still haven't had it chirp with my Goodyear belt at almost 55k.

I can't go either way with this, though it remains on the car.

I will say though...I have great faith in Metco.

All my double bearing idlers are from them. And they are at about 72k on each one. No chirp or screeches.

Metco is great. They cost a lot but from first hand experience I believe they really are a great vendor.

Yeah man never seen this. I knew i didnt want to go with an aftermarket one at this point. Ill throw it on in a week or two with my 2.8, and new GATES HD.

Not that this isn't a good product, but its a bandaid fix. I still bent tensioners with this brace. You just cant work around the stock flimsy magnesium tensioner....its weak.

I swapped to a UPR Billet sprung tensioner back in 2011.....no issues since.

you have to slide the belt off to put this on?
or it can be done with it on?
does IC tank hose has to come off? burped after or simple fill back up
