The stock pulley tensioner on the 03-04 Cobra has been known to flex under extreme loads which can lead to belt slippage. The more power/boost you make, the more the tensioner will flex towards the front of the car. The guys at Metco Motorsports have this really nice CNC machined brace that bolts over the factory tensioner to help eliminate any flexing of the tensioner. Priced at only $69, it’s not only nice, it works! Not to mention, it bolts in the factory location so installation is simple.

Here is the stock tensioner on my car without the brace.

Here is a picture of the support brace and hardware. It even came with a small tube of blue lock-tite

And here it is installed. It took me about 15min to put on and was simple and straight forward. Comes with new mounting hardware and spacers.

Yup I installed one awhile back. Hope it helps cure some belt slip I had on my last dyno session. We shall see, I've since added the brace and a gates HD green belt.

I had belt slip issues too. I swapped to Metco pulleys and this brace. No more slip at all so you should be good man!

That is now one less thing to worry about, looks like a strong piece also.

Nice Tim. I thought about the same thing but for $69, it was well worth it. Plus, I think it looks nice too. I see you have some METCO pulleys. I just did a set of those too. Great stuff over at Metco.

Its definitely a need as you increase HP/Boost. Its a great alternative to changing out the tensioner itself.
