As I lay dying is the shit( especially their first few albums). Almost every band posted so far has at least three or four songs on my iPod. Good stuff guys!

Between the Buried and Me is my favorite band, so much talent. Everything they make is gold. Listen to their album Colors all the way through, it will blow your mind.
With that being said, I like all sorts of metal.
Don't know how many bands were listed but here are some I like. Maybe not all the subgenres you listed but I bet you'll like them. There's some industrial and progressive metal, technical death metal, etc

After The Burial
Breakdown of Sanity
Solution .45
Sybreed
Misery Signals
Volumes
Animals as Leaders (no vocals here but extremely technical)
The Black Dahlia Murder
As Blood Runs Black
Sylosis
Scar Symmetry
The Faceless
Soilwork
The Human Abstract
Mnemic

most of this may(or may not) be a little "lighter" than you're looking for, but damn good stuff none the less

two of my favorites from the aforementioned strapping young lad(extreme metal)...
[youtube_browser]1sKPhAEhCko[/youtube_browser]

[youtube_browser]-aOy7bEkbCU[/youtube_browser]

can't go wrong with some mastodon(progressive metal, earlier=heavier)
[youtube_browser]nmQAmyIMPd4[/youtube_browser]

[youtube_browser]labytsb3gfI[/youtube_browser]

intronaut is without a doubt one of my favorite metal bands(post-metal, again earlier=heavier)
[youtube_browser]APIm1lxfIbI[/youtube_browser]

[youtube_browser]hZYhDtg31Wc[/youtube_browser]

one of my favorite metal songs, from becoming the archetype(melodic death metal, christian band)
[youtube_browser]KdCB8Lyai4g[/youtube_browser]
my old band(and my self obviously) was on the same bill as these guys for a local show - killer live show!

can't go wrong with some static-x(industrial metal/groove metal)
[youtube_browser]fBSnjtkSXBs[/youtube_browser]

[youtube_browser]US0_q8LzKbY[/youtube_browser]

some devildriver(melodic death metal)
[youtube_browser]Bp8sTQ9yIT8[/youtube_browser]

[youtube_browser]fGjXG0FvtEQ[/youtube_browser]

and, a shameless plug for my old band(bass player) that screwed me over and imploded 2 months later(i'm still proud of our music, regardless of the bullshit:lol1:)

I lold when a friend told me about Mathcore. What kind of a name for a genre is that?
it's in reference to the technicality of their songs, with odd time signatures and signature changes, polymeteres, polyrhythems(meshuggah is a GREAT example of polyrhythem use), cross-rhythms, etc.
the basic structure of music is essentially built upon math(4/4 time signature, triplets, 1/8th notes, etc.), so 'mathcore' is basically the intentional use of math to build complex compositions.
tool and nine inch nails are good examples of math rock/math metal/mathcore or the use of such elements.

I don't know man lol, I'm not a fan of labels personally, but there isn't any way to avoid it when it comes to metal.
don't hatem', embracem'! lol, labels make it easier to find shit you like by organizing bands that have a similar sound or similar elements in their music.

edit: and quit listening to the job for a cowboy garbage! that crap gives metal a bad name!:lol1:

favorite slayer song!

[youtube_browser]XUqfe_3QO60[/youtube_browser]
favorite parkway drive song!

on a side note, one of the best bassists in the game at the moment...
[youtube_browser]o9dN1MsxIMc[/youtube_browser]
joe lester from intronaut, absolutely ****ing phenomenal bassist! uses an ampeg rig, fulltone bass drive overdrive box, and a SICK pedulla buzz fretless 5 string with EMG pickups(though he's using an EMG supplied zon sonus in the vid, which is lacking a little of the depth that his pedulla has).
