I'm not going to post the whole build thread in here like I have on other forums but I will post a mod list and my impressions of the Kit that James from CobraEngineering provided me with.
Mod list:
Rebuilt motor
M122 Blower
Adapter plate from Cobraengineering.net
Dragon TB
Slot Style MAF
BAP
60's
2.76 upper
BF Idlers
4LB Lower Metco Kit
Longtube headers
Spec 3+ Clutch
Resurfaced Flywheel
26 Spline input shaft
Subframe connectors
New Rear Shocks
Steeda Diff Brace
To begin, the adapter plates were top notch pieces! They looked great and the machining was world class, and on top of that the customer service from James was un-paralleled! He answered every question I had in our many emails and usually within a few hours, at most it was a day or so. Great guy to work with. I purchased my blower from a member on here for about $350, the plates were $650, injectors were $250, BAP was $200 and that all totals up to $1450. This is considerably LESS that what you can get a used 2.3 or 2.2 for. Uniqueness and price were the driving forces that led me to choose the M122. Efficiency of the improved rotor design and improved inlet design are the other driving factors that helped me to chose the M122 for my cobra.
On to the pics!
She put down 553/556 on BP 93 octane with 17 degree's of timing at Fastlane Motorsports. The 4lb lower and 2.76 upper made 18 lbs of boost across the board with a short peak at 19. Caleb tried giving her 19 degree's of timing and there was the slightest spark knock at the VERY top of the band(he blamed my compression), just to be safe he sent me home with the 17 degree tune. I have the ability to give the car those extra two degrees of timing if i throw some Torco in the tank just to be safe; it made 570 with the 19 degrees. Caleb also told me that with a meth kit he is comfortable giving the car up to 24 degrees of timing which should get me into the 590-600 range. I'm pretty happy with those numbers, the IAT2 temps stayed below 120 the whole time as well (with cool downs in between pulls).
If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them. I'd just like to share my experience and let the cobra guys know that they have another option in the blower market.
