Come on BRO. I was starting to develop some respect for you as you have diligently point-by-pointed my posts. but you are becoming predictable and, again, mistaking volume for value.

Your most recent post can be summed up in four succinct sentences:

1. You think that I somehow insulted you by referencing magazine times; as if somehow any acknowledgement of an outside source other than you, myself or any other on this board de-legitimizes your observations.

2. You are concerned where I concentrate the majority of my post count.

3. You feel justified in your insults because I insulted you (by implication) when I addressed your observations.

4. You feel that my addressing your observations was insensitive of your opinion.

My response:

If you step away from your position for ONE moment and look at the dialog as it exists independently of you, myself or your allegiance to Ford you'll notice one incontrovertable point. Just as you witnessed a run time accomplished by the Z, I did too. So did the guy who published his performance numbers in the magazine.

I'm unsure where you arrive at this idea that somehow my responding to your point about the capabilities of this car is an insult. I"M NOT CALLING YOU A LIAR!!! YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINION. I never refuted it. You said (paraphrasing) "I have not seen a Z run a 13..." In response, I supplied evidence that ran counter to your observations. That is not being offensive, nor is it not entitling you to your opinion. It is a simple refutation that you can accept (which I hope you will considering the independent source of the information) or not. But to call it "insulting" because I am challenging what you have observed with evidence in contention is downright sophomoric. I don't to be funny when I say this but essentially what you have done is this:

Person A: The sky is bluish/white.

Person B: From what I've seen, the sky is whitish/blue.

Person A: Well I think the sky is bluish/white and here is some evidence in support.

Person B: I don't care about the evidence.

Person A: You should at least respond to it if it is contrary to your opinion. And if you don't, maybe you just don't want to admit that it could be accurate.

Person B: Why do you have to be argumentative and challenge my position? Why can't I be left to have my own opinion? You are insulting me.

Person A: What?!?! I'm trying to have a dialog and have you respond to what I have found. That is the basis of any good and substantive conversation. But if you really want to be technical about your equating opining with insulting, you responded to my write-up about the sky so you were the first to (by your definition) insult. In other words...Why couldn't you leave me with *my* opinion? And since you didn't (following your logic) you insulted me.

Do you see how silly that is?

Come on man, I don't know you but that seems really hypersensitive.

Hypocrite huh??? Well since your basis for calling me a hypocrite was predicated on your perception of being "insulted," which I thoroughly addressed above, I don't need to address this any further beyond saying: Read the above. I didn't insult you. I did what anyone does on a public forum board subsequent to a response...I responded.

And it matters not what posts I have devoted more time and attention to. I have considerably more posts here because I have to respond to both the legitimate comments and the insults. The fact that you have brought this up represents one of the worst kinds of logical fallacies. It's called a NON SEQUITUR. Specifically, you are affirming the consequent. To school you on this:

Yes I post more here.
Yes I started posting with this thread.

What does that have to do with my value to this forum? What does that have to do with the legitimacy of my claim concerning the Z?

Predictable...in the worst way.

So how about this, if you're going to respond, no more non sequiturs, Ignoratio elenchis (irrelevant conclusions), proof by verbosity, style over substance, appealing to force, ad hominems or the host of other fallacies you use to make a point.

Just address the issues. You don't like Zs, fine. You haven't seen them run 13s, cool. I provided you a counter point (the magazine article). You don't think the "time" is legitimate.....

O.K....here is what we have been getting to...

1. WHY DO YOU NOT THINK IT IS LEGITIMATE?

You're running out of space arguing with me. You're resorting to recycling the same baseless arguments, namecalling and incoherent conclusions. The funny thing is, once you complete your responses, you feel some sense of satisfaction. I guess when you read it, it seems to be forceful. It isn't. I can point out logical fallacies and deconstruct arguments with ease. That is what I do for a living.

Now you can acquiesce and just address question #1 above. Or you can continue to allow me to *practice* my deconstruction techniques on your vapid replies.

I would advise the former. Cause listening to NyteByte is not getting you anywhere. He knows the power of my dialectic. That is the reason he contributes 2 sentence declarative statements concerning particpants accomplishing something (hammering me on every post) that, heretofore, has not been accomplished...and will not be accomplished henceforth.

If you do choose the latter, though, please reply to all of what I have said...the logical fallacies, the issue of opining/replying = insulting, my issue with the opining=insulting thing...EVERYTHING. Don't pick one thing, or recycle old things, and then feel satisfied because you got some "last word." And don't respond with the classical "this is a waste of my time...I don't need to respond..." Choose one or the other. Lets get back to cars, or continue being deconstructed.

The bottom line is most of the people on this site are Ford owners and want to buy american products. If you dont think buying the foreign cars doesnt hurt our economy just go tell it to all the auto workers in Detroit that are losing their jobs.Support your county people! If people buy american then they will be able to keep more jobs here.

seriously :lol1: im actually laughing thinking about how much time you wasted typing that

you really think im going to read your essay? like i've been saying, this is a car message board, not a debate forum. the fact that you took the time to type all of this proves to me you dont understand this. i'm sure you've noticed the lack of page-long posts on this message board

i take into account the legitamacy of real world numbers, not magazine times. the fact that you can't handle my view (your quick reply with a "Without much research I found this: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests...ree/index9.html...") makes you a :loser: , plain and simple.

It's all good though. At least I closed the subject--your avoidance accounts for something.

Your points are so noted and addressed in my previous post.

Incidentally the post that I wrote in 11 minutes. I know cause I had a meeting to rush off to.

Have a great day!

We already broached this subject about two pages back so I won't discuss it to much besides saying:

Buying import cars is not the cause of lay-offs. Imports (Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc.) contribute a large percentage of income to our U.S. economy.

LAYOFFS AT GM, FORD ETC ARE CAUSED BY GM AND FORD MAKING OPERATIONAL DECISIONS TO OFF-SHORE THEIR PRODUCTION PLANTS TO MEXICO, VENEZUELA AND CANADA IN ORDER TO AVOID CERTAIN TAXES, ADDITIONAL OVER-HEAD COSTS AND INCREASED EMPLOYEE WAGES.

THE END.

When you buy a GM, there is a strong likelihood that 60% of the money is going to sustain a plant in Mexico. Thats right.

When you buy a Ford, there is a strong likelihood (depending on the model) that 44% of the money is going to sustain a plant in Mexico.

Want proof...Hold on...

Here ya go:

Check out this article. Not to make you second-guess buying Fords. But to educate you as to where your money is going.

BLEED BLUE....NOT QUITE!!!

Check out this article from a guy who refuses to buy FORD or GM because he believes that their off-shoring is unAmerican. He also says he refuses to buy an Import.

http://www.yeald.com/Yeald/a/33101/why_ford_is_losing_market_share.html

Here is an excerpt.

"Ford Motor Company is an enemy of my country.
Robert Hanson, formerly of the FBI was not the only American Traitor. Today, there are CEO's who are doing more damage to the USA than Hanson ever did. Hanson cost the lives of a dozen of America's intelligence operatives. OFFSHORING is wiping out 2,600,000 Americans, with 70,000 in Connecticut alone according to NBC.
http://www.nbc30.com/nbc30/2190071/detail.html
Ford is more damaging to my country than Robert Hanson.

Osama is trying to destroy my country. Ford is committing the same crime. Ford is doing it for green and black money, in wartime.

To be honest with Ford, I will not purchase another General Motors vehicle, even though I have had decades of excellent service from my present two General Motors vehicles. Why? Offshoring. I will not deal with a company which commits treason against me, my countrymen, and my country."

It is estimated that by the year 2010, Imports will contribute more to the U.S. economy than will domestic automakers. Off-shoring.

Another great, and short, article from US news.com:

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/biztech/articles/040607/7honda.htm

Here is an excerpt for those that don't want to read it in its entirety:

"The "offshoring" of U.S. jobs is a familiar story by now, especially in the auto industry, as GM, Ford, Chrysler, and their myriad suppliers have sought cheap labor in Mexico, China, and other locales. But while the Big Three have been shipping work overseas, foreign-based carmakers have become more Americanized than ever--and found ways to reap the biggest profits in the industry while still paying high wages to U.S. workers.

Asian and European auto companies and their suppliers now employ 216,000 Americans in manufacturing jobs, nearly one fourth of the industry total. The same companies have also been eagerly hiring well-paid American engineers and technical specialists, especially as they try to sell more profitable SUV s and pickup trucks--uniquely American products."

So you want to support America and show companies that the American Flag shouldn't be pimped for profit:

BUY TOYOTA.

And thats real.

You are completely out of the loop on this one, it's ok though, I understand. I just prefer real racing whereas you are a typical straight-liner. :nonono:

Because the ones who only focus on straight line performance don't know how to take turns.

NyteByte...

To what do I owe the pleasure of the newest batch of insults. Got tired of trying to respond to legitimate posts and had to resort to pandering.

:wf: Troll.

Cheers.

you didn't close this subject because you can't change my opinion, no matter how many words you type. my avoidance of your page-long post has to do with the fact that this is a mb for svt enthusiasts, not people with too much time on their hands and not enough recognition in their minds.

not quite. my point is, i have an opinion (my very own) of drag times that can't be changed by magazine times.

Wait, are you serious? Did you read the article that you posted?

The point is... the 350 beat the GT by 1.5 seconds in the slalom and your acting like the cars are worlds apart in handling. The cobra will also outperform the GT in the slalom.
