Last night our Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix passed away. Loki Watson was an absolute nut. Somebody threw him out the window of an SUV when he was a puppy in front of one of my wife’s coworkers and we ended up with him.

My wife woke up and found him dead. We are down to our cat and minipittipotamus.

Sorry for you and your family. Awesome taking him in and giving a real home.

Damn, that sucks. Unexpected?

He just turned 12, he was a tripod due to needing an amputation due to growths but he was doing fine. He was eating well, playing, no signs of anything. Not like our pit/lab that had the brain tumor.

So sorry for your loss and I hope you take comfort in knowing he didn't suffer or slowly decline to the point where he was hanging on for life like many dogs. He was living his best life, pain free all the way to the end in a home where he was loved.

King had his vet check-up this morning and got good news that his arm is completely solid now so it's healing up and he should be able to make a full recovery! Huge relief getting that news cause I just wasn't sure if I was keeping him mellow enough. Really need to have a talk with someone about these casts though. They're awful and this one looks like he's wearing a woman's Leopard print boot lol.

That's great news man! How much longer does he need to wear a cast?

Sounds like just another 3 weeks. The vet said with his last cast that he had so much loose hair that none of the bandages were sticking at all. I even had to try to keep that thing together as long as possible because it started to fall apart the first day. It was completely empty of all bandages around his shoulder by today's visit lol. But he said if this cast manages to fall of then not to worry about it and just keep him from getting too active. So it sounds like it's nearly safe enough but just giving it some more time to heal fully.
