My 2003 cobra now makes 417 rwhp and 460 ftlb tq. I have been racing my bike at loring afb for the last 2 years and now I would like to race my car. It has been dyno tuned on a mustang dyno and makes 14 lbs of boost. It has a bap and a new pro m maf. Its been lowered and has a ftbr kit in it. I need it to last wot for 1.5 mile. I was thinking steggy stage 6 with matched injectors and a ported throtle body. I would like to get 175 out of her. Is this doable.

It's not going to happen unless you have forged pistons. The factory ones only have .001 clearance compare that to aftermarket ones that are between .0020-.0030. You will need cooling mods to like a real heat extractor hood. For having 14psi it seems like your hp is a little low.

According to a tuner in nor cal shaun at aed you can doit in the stock motor he takes timing away from 7 and 8 and adds fuel on them to cool them down I have never tried it but if I did I would run 100 octane to help out a little bit

A stock terminator should do 175mph on a smooth surface. Ford never stated top end of terminator but the 2000 Cobra R with the huge front and rear spoilers was rated 170mph drag limited. Being that your terminator has mods it should easily do 175 if not more.

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this. Its not just about cooling mods, you need a specific tune for an extended high speed run like this. A richer tune is a SAFER tune.

The car will be tuned on my friends mustang dyno. The higest he's ever got out of a stock 03-04 is 340 rwhp. Most are in the 325 to 335 range. So being a good 80 hp over stock I think is decent for my mod list. After the porting I hope to 460 rwhp and over 500 ft lbs. I could also use meth or some no2 as a cooler. I'dd just like to pull my friends 2010 gt500. His car is black with the flat black stripes. It is sooooo nice. I just want to beat him buy 1 mph. If I need new pistons then I will do a lsr build. New cams and heads and maybe a 3.4 crusher. I am a sore loser. Damit his bike is 7 mph faster than mine. I cant let his car be faster.

With 14 lbs of boost I guess you have a 2.76/2.8 upper. #'s seem low for that amount of boost.

I run the same tune for open track, mile runs, 1/4 mile, autox, cruising, 1/2 mile roll runs etc in temps as low as 40* to as high as 107*.

I have never seen a stock cobra dyno as low as 325-335rwhp.

Yea you can do it , forged pistons and make sure you tell your tuner that once you go WOT on 5th gear you want your wideband to read 10.0 A/F

The car has a 9.10 lower on it. It was in the 90s with high humidity the day he dynoed it. My afr is at 11 right now I think. The guy that made 340 rwhp made 380 on a dynojet so his dyno is a heartbreaker for sure. My car runs very smooth. He did a great job tuning it. It was tuned with the new intune from diablosport. It works great. When I first got the car my maf was peged at 4900 rpm. My new pro m 80 mm pulls all the way to 6500. Tq come on soon and stays around 450 to 460 thru the meat of the rpm band with a peak of 475. I put the ftbr kit with the ford cover on soon after I got the car knowing I would be trying some lsr stuff and I did'nt want to shit parts all over the track. Is tuning with meth a pain in the a$$ and is it worth 500 buck to mess with it or should I but the used 2.3 whipple for 2k I found. I would have about 1500. in the eaton with meth.

Stock maf is 90mm so why did you go down in size? Did the tuner recommend it? You will need two tunes, one with the meth and one without the meth. You never know when you run out of meth. Isn't it 500.00 plus tuning? It's almost 1/2 the cost of a used whipple.

The 80 mm pro m reads from around the outside of the ring. Nothing in the center to block the flow. According to pro m and a few tuner shops I talked they will out flow a larger maf with the meter in the center. Its rated to 800 crank hp. If I go whipple I will need to get a differnt setup. Fuel pumps, maf ,injectors. So 2k turns into 3k plus quick. 1500 I would have a decent setup I think. I can do the run on his dyno. If it shits parts it will do it on his dyno. Ill take some pics of my setup soon and hopefully a vid or 2. Thanks.
