How high do you rev?

I was getting on a freeway on-ramp in my 01 yesterday and gunned it up into the high rpms in 1st gear (it's on a sharp downhill slope). I looked down quick and saw about 7200-7300 rpms. After punching myself in the face a couple of times I took it easy for the rest of the ride home. Ford says that the red line is at 6800 but fuel cut-off is at 7000 rpms. I have an SCT tune so I'm guessing my rev limiter is removed all together. I know it's not safe to bring the needle past the red line but I'm wondering how high you guys rev it up.

i used to take mine to 7k quite often....then i got a blower and we set the limiter at 6500

What kind of blower did you go with? I'm thinking of getting a vortech so I hope I can still take it pretty high

7200 here as well. Have no fear, just keep 7qts in the oil pan so you don't starve the heads of oil

7200rpm, but thats with slightly better internals and crower springs.

no point in turning a stock 99 motor that high

Ya won't starve the heads before a rod bearing.

usually o/a 7k, i have spun it to around 7500 once though on a 100shot..stupid me i reset the limiter after that..

Where did you get your heads/cams? How much did it cost?

with the blower I try and keep her at 6500 but when I was NA, I would take it to 6900
