I work as a Prototyping Specialist at a Packaging design firm. I don't make a huge salary, so the key for me is doing projects a little at a time. When I did my blower build, I collected parts over the course of 8-9 months, buying as I got money but never overextending my disposable income. Also, really shopping around hard and buying used parts is the key. I only spent about 2k in parts to do a complete intercooled Novi 2000 build, buying EXACTLY what parts I wanted.

Patience is the key too. When I was in high school and I had my old '95 GT, all I did was mod, detail, and race that thing. Then I went to college and it got ruined. I never had time to maintain it, the paint went to shit, and always had me in the dumps. I contemplated selling it like 3 times before I actually did. My suggestion if you are really hooning for a nice mustang is to buy a shitty beater for college, and just save whatever money you can during school, then buy a nice mustang when you graduate.

Good luck man:beer:

Wow, thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.. Just sold my first mustang a few days back, the 97 gt in my picture. I'm looking to get a notchback for the spring and i'm not gonna beat on it at all, I don't after I crashed my brothers car on the way to get my plates for my gt:fm: but I learned from my mistakes and i'm a very cautious driver now. I'll keep the notch for a few months then sell it by the end of summer if I have to and work from there.

flipping cars on the side while still working full time is good for extra cash. for a while I was pulling in an extra couple grand every couple month doing flips, Ive been slacking lately on flipping cars but Ill probably flip my 300ZX in the next couple weeks and I'll make around a $1000 profit on that since I got a killer deal on it.

i can even show you the math so you know how it works....I picked up a 69 mustang for 6750 (interior was totally disassembled, car ran poorly and would hardly ever start), so I cleaned every single interior piece and put the interior totally back together, got a new fuel filter for $15 and got the car starting and running very good. (i was lucky thats the only thing it needed). Didnt even register it or sign the title I just sold it 3 weeks later for $8800 to a guy from new york.

I install and inspect Fire Suppresion systems for special hazards and hold 2 licenses. My work is enforced upon companies to be done twice a year to stay open. So job security is 100% and I get all the OT I want. People want to stay open then I have to inspect/install to keep them compliant with codes. But I don't support my hobbies with this. I'm a drummer in a band and I get $100 for every gig I play and $500 for every wedding. I use my pay checks for bills only and for my hobbies I use gig and OT money only. Don't get over your head and take it slow. Good luck

software sales here, been at it for a while. Graduated from college with a marketing degree.

you gotta have a long term plan and stick to it. I wanted a mustang when I was 16, couldn't afford it until I was 23. Finally at the age of 28 I bought my dream car, my current cobra.

It takes time, you gotta be smart and patient and think strategically about everything.

I work full time as a Toyota technician up in Nashua. I work part time for member (GOTSVT) making honey processing equipment. Save and spend wisely. I saved and ended up buying a turbo kit, all the extras to install it in one sitting by doing so.
