I recently bought a Simpson Bandit helmet in Black.

I was thinking about what kind of graphics or stripes to add to the helmet but nothing really seemed right. I've even considered having it painted MystiChrome, but I don't think that will work either.

How about posting some pics of your helmets so I can get some ideas.

I always use my friends helmets. They are cheap and ugly LOL.. but I have only been to the track a couple times. I guess I should pick one up but they are so expensive

Some people enjoy placing all those "cool" little stickers from their auto parts all over their engine bays with pride. I save mine for the helmet. So I guess that's my art work.

Here are a bunch of designs. Most are way out there IMO. When air brushing, the more complex the design the higher the cost. Plain is usually the way to go.

Get some mystichrome flames. That would be pretty stellar I think.

OR

Leave it like that! I think the black looks good as well. Matches my car a little better Lol.

Jimmy gave me an idea, BrainBucket. Have a brain painted on the helmet.

Whatever you do, do not let that black helmet sit in the sun. Cover it with a towel or something. Mine is dark blue so I know how hot it can get.

I also wear a balaclava. Even when I don't sport the beard and mustache, it still keeps the inside of the helmet from getting all funky.

Excellent advice! They get wet enough just from sweating while running. Sure don't need to put on a pre-heated one.

Mystichrome ghost flames! Yes! That would be bad ass!

I just may talk to my painter about trying this. Thanks for the great idea!

This is also an excellent suggestion (especially for here in the Sunshine State)!

I ordered mine painted from Simpson along with a visor to match.

I'd look for a good airbrusher, unless you want to do vinyls. I've seen plenty of people on the web who do custom designs on helmets.
