Has anybody smoged their VMP TVS ? This is the first year i have to smog my GT500. Think I'll have any problems? Its an RET tuned VMP TVS with Ford Racing intake.
If you pull off the VMP sticker on the blower it will probably pass as being stock. If the shop isn't familiar with GT500s just tell him they come factory supercharged. I don't see why Greg would turn off the rear O2s if you're still using the factory cats. Doesn't hurt to call him and verify first. I'd just try a place first before going with peoples "hook ups".
put a FRPP sticker on the blower and youll be fine, and as stated make sure the rear O2s are turned on
This is what im gonna do.....I see those FORD RACING plates for the TVS on EBAY for 10.00. Im also calling Greg to make sure.
Have you guys ever heard of a guy the will "help" for a star smog?
+1you guys should really to take any names and specifics to pm's. otherwise could jeapordize it for all of us
Far as the VMP S/C, from what I know and seen is that they do a visual inspection as well. Since it doesn't have a EGR valve, im sure it will fail on the spot.
That would suck if its true, we got it bad. I really want the VMP but thats the only thing keeping me away from it, no EGR. This is why im leaning more towards a Whipple.that is what I thought as well, but in the op's other thread (gt500 vmp tuning) they mentioned that only the terminator's tvs cases have no egr provision. so i guess the tvs gt500 guys have it a lot easier out here.
