I pulled out the 22’s (gap ~ .43) and installed autolite ar103’s(copper / same heat range as 22’s)

Gap was set @ .40 for the new ones installed

I would like to increase the gap without getting blowout

How far can I go, I think ford says up to .46

I know there are still some stock pulleys out there, so please let me know what gap has produced good results.

go lower then what ford recommends... they require a bigger gap cuz theyre trying to get 100K miles out of the vehicle... but i dotn think any plug is good after 30K

Why are you wanting to increase the gap over the stock gap?

I messed around with the gap quite a bit, any more than .039 or so and blowout becomes an issue on my 03 with stock pullies. No way will you be able to go .046

I would suggest .032-.035

I do not want to go higher then the stock recommendation, based on my old notes from the forums I went with .40.

Sticker under the hood states .42-.46, so I was rechecking what others have used with good results.

I know you want the widest gap that does not blow out, and figured this spec. has been narrowed down precisely over the years.

Thanks Kilgore Trout for the reply, that’s just the answer I was looking for.
