With that color scheme, you won’t get the wear marks on the barrel top (front) where the slide cycles.

I’ve been eyeballing a CZ Evo Scorpion 3 Pistol in FDE. Love the looks as well as how many companies make accessories for them. Just hoping someone on this page owns one and can provide insight to reliability and shoot-ability.

Thanks in advance!

Love mine, I put an MRO and shockwave blade on it.

I owned both the Evo and the MPX. The MPX was much better, but they both sucked. Sold them both after less than a year.

The Evo had a cheap plastic feel. Was picky about ammo. Mag feed/release sucks... got stuck all the time. You have zero choice but to either bleed or upgrade the safety. Just overall was very disappointed.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that after a few break-downs for cleaning, the lower assembly developed a lot of slop with the upper assembly.

Built a mini 'gun closet' + beer brewing supplies. Went with Gallow Technology's panels and mounts. Very impressed with the product getting to handle it. Very simple install, good weight and plenty of modularity to adjust to fit whatever size collection you have.

^^^ I want, too! We have a linen closet about the same size in our master bedroom that I'd LOVE to turn into a gun storage closet. That's not going to happen, though, since it's now loaded with linens and my wife's personal stuff. LOL. I'll have to be satisfied with my section in the walk-in closet. That does look really nice, keeping everything neat and tidy.

Definitely a modest closet conversion compared to what can be done but just enough for my simple collection with room to expand as needed. Funny enough this was my wifes junk/feminine closet. Now it is the keeper of freedom. Lol.

She came home from work after I knocked the shelves out and I said “so I did a thing...;)

I appreciate your insight as you’re the first person I’ve spoken to who’s expressed issues with either platform. I’ll have to do some more research prior to pulling the trigger.

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying yours! As previously stated, I haven’t found a single person who has something bad to say about the newer Scorpions. Maybe the above mentioned issues were with earlier platforms?

I absolutely love it, put the brace on it and it’s a blast to shoot. I haven’t had any issues with feeding and I’ve shot anything from crap steel case to good Speer gold dot. The sigs are nice and i still kinda want one.

The MPX was much better, but the machining, while very clean, was misaligned. The upper and lower were visually not aligned properly. I think that lead to some feed issues and stove pipes I had. Also, even with an upgraded charging handle, it still rattled loose and would walk its way out.

Sold it to a buddy who knew all that sent it back to SIG and had the fix it. He's loved it since... but I wouldn't have trusted it anymore.

On the upside, a friend of mine got a great deal on an MPX. LOL

NP... if you do buy one, get the ambi safety delete and buy an arm brace. Those two items were great improvements.

For what its worth, I think I am cursed, so I may not be a good benchmark. I have never owned a good running semi-auto 7.62 NATO rifle and I have owned 5 so far. I am going to try a Daniel Defense next. Out of the hundreds of handguns I purchased in the last 30 years, I have only had 3 that I really like. All the rest just didn't do it for me for any number of reasons.

Maybe I'm too picky?

LOL. So the big question is....did she forgive you for "doing a thing"? I have a feeling she'll still have her junk/feminine closet somewhere in your house. :)

Have you tried LWRC? Best rifle on the market, IMHO.

I have not. If the DD didn't work out, the REPR MKII is on the list of considerations. The DD is 3k and the REPR is 4k+. I started this misadventure in the lower price points and I am slowly making my way up. LOL
