Handgun with red dot is the superior tool, but ONLY if you put in the work to get squared away on it.

I would not recommend a red dot for an average gun owner.
For sure....takes a lot of getting used too...but...once it becomes natural its the way to go...imo

Anyone have any experience with this one? Was thinking this might make a good CC for the wife...
I do not have any experience with the pistol in question but have found other Berettas to be quality products. So many questions to determine if that is a good choice for your wife or any else for that matter. How will it be carried? Lots of stuff on that pistol to snag on if in a purse. The Holosun is nice, but you are paying extra for something probably not needed on a CCW. Same with the threaded barrel, while that may be a low cost add on, something to screw on to it will cost you $600+ for the hardware and $200 for the stamp. And you are not going to carry it with the silencer anyway (unless your wife is a sicario). And lastly, think about the safety. Unless the carrier spends an incredible amount of time at the range getting muscle memory to become instinctive, the manual safety will be a problem when the pistol is needed but the safety is still on. I suggest looking at something with a trigger and/or grip safety and no manual safety and practicing keeping finger off trigger until aimed at what you want dead.

Spent my whole life with iron sights and have held on to it for a long time. All of my friends in the competition world went to the red dots some time ago. After awhile their times have dropped tremendously. It really is hard to keep up. I am still carrying irons but am starting to switch over to the dot for competitions. It is going to take some getting use to. I have only been at it for a couple of weeks. Here is a little vid of me plinking around on steel. I know in the long run that it is going to make me faster then I could ever be with irons.

You will have a MUCH easier time making the switch vs a beginner or “average” gun owner… Only some slight adjustments for you. Your presentation and fundamentals are already solid AF.

Thank you sir. Another big adjustment is that I always closing one eye with the irons and now I am doing an optic with both eyes open. I think this video was my second practice with both eyes open.

This is not aimed at you, just in general.

Speaking of MIM parts, I had to Google exactly what that is.

With that said, I have seen people focus on forged vs Mim all the time specially in the 1911 scene. I see no proof that forged parts undergo non destructive testing or any testing for cracks etc before or after they are machined.

We have that or similar process done A LOT in the machine shop I work at for both our parts and our customer parts. I have been in quality control for a long time in a machine shop.

The whole forged/Mim is in someway marketing just as "billet" is used in market for aftermarket parts in the motorsports scene. The product should be engineered to be reliable. Just my two cents.

It's all fine, but a powered casted part is going to cost significantly less than a machines tool steel part.

That said, TISAS Master Race.

Turkish forged perfection starting at $300.

Ain't no Turk ever try to take my guns or donated to the DNC.
