okay so what do you guys reccomend the 2.76 or the 2.93?
I was never a fan of overspinning the Eaton (unported) to make minimal gains at the expense of generating more heat. This blower hates heat. So IMHO the 2.93/2.90 is a better choice. I made pretty nice power with a 2.90 before I ported the blower. 457rwhp and 480rwtq. JMO.

Well I added a JLT RAI, 100mm Billetflow idler, and changed from a 2.93 to 2.76 pulley. Only other mods are off road x and Stingers. Clutch was slipping a little bit and I put down 465rwhp in 95 degree heat here in Houston. The torque reading on the dyno was broken. I was told it should be about 490-500. A/F is about 11.6-11.9 through the x pipe and 21 degrees of timing. Now I need to start saving for a new clutch:cuss:

Great numbers, they are very similar to mine. Where did you get the dyno done at? I had mine done at Fastlane.

How was the weather when you dynoed it? 95 degree weather plus very high humidity down here means lower numbers. I'm sure if it was about 60 to 70 degrees with low humidity it would have been close to 480. The 2.76 might add about .2 pounds of boost. Do you think that will cause excessive heat compared to a 2.80?

I don't remember the temp that day but I was in short sleeves and shorts so it had to be a bit warm. I'll say this from everything I've researched on here and MF...Guys that are running a 2.76 typically have a ported Eaton. So you can't go wrong with that combo. But like CobraBob pointed out there are guys make a heck of a lot of torque just with the 2.93. I trust my tuner's opinion on the matter and he won't do 2.76s anymore because of the minimal benefit and increased heat. And there are many out there who share the same opinion. I know I'm not going beyond a bigger T/B and ported plenum plus a Bassani CB and X. Thats more than enough power. If I crave more a Whipple will go on it.

guys, I wasn't talking about ported vs unported and I wasn't talking about 2.93 vs 2.76/2.80

the original statement that I was contesting was that there's some magical line between 2.76 and 2.80 that shouldn't be crossed......the difference is only .04 increase in blower ratio and 256 RPM at 6500 engine speed

heck, I like to shift at 6000 with my 2.76 and my friend winds his 2.93 out to 6500, so he ends up running the blower 338 RPM higher than I do :p

I have a BF 2.76, and the LDC cooling mod. No other upgraded cooling aids, and I drive my car pretty hard. No heat related issues to date, and I rev to 6500 (sometimes 7000).

I hear your point but it still is 256rpms and minimal power gains. Thats what I was getting at. Don't get me wrong though, a 2.76 with a ported Eaton makes a world of difference. Just like the temps will be much lower with a ported and 2.80, etc.

I gained 56rwhp switching from stock pulley to a 2.93. I only gained 2rwhp more when switching to a 2.76 with no other changes. I did however gain 44 more rwtq. I just had it ported though and I have to wait to get the dc controller box fixed on my dyno to tune it. :cuss:

As a sidenote, before the port...2.76, MAC 3inch catback, K&N drop in, very conservative 19 degree timing SCT tune and running through the stock 4 cats I put down 435/509. I don't want to increase timing until I get a better mid-pipe. I don't want cylinder temps to get too high.
