decided to take a weekend getaway with my wife next weekend. It will be her first time and my third time. I want to know what's a good nightclub to go to. We are staying at the mirage. Want to go see at least one show and obviously some gambling. So leave some suggestions and thanks in advance.

The wife and I were there a couple months ago.
We enjoyed the shows "O" by Cirque which is showing at the Bellagio, and Absinthe outside of Caesars.
The pinball museum is lots of fun if you enjoy classic arcades and pinball machines.
Serendipity 3 is a great place to eat, but make sure you are hungry as the portions are huge.
The Caesars mojito bar in front of Caesars Palace has delicious albeit expensive mojito's.
If you can find a Haagen-Dazs, the rum raisin shakes are delicious!
Aria has a really nice casino for gambling.
The Hoover dam tour is cool if you've never done it.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

The O cirque de solei was a lot of fun.

Have a few drinks, grab a camera, and do the wax museum. It's a riot.

Take a ride out to the Hoover Dam and take the tour. It's a bona-fide piece of Americana.

I love going to Vegas. As others have said, the cirque shows are outstanding and well worth the money. I say, blow off the gambling as it most often doesnt end well. Spend your money doing some of the many cool things available. I went to exotics racing and raced a lambo. I also went to Sky Combat Ace and flew a stunt plane. The wife and I had dinner at the rotating restaurant at the top of the stratosphere which is around 900 feet in the air. If you have never been to the grand canyon, it's a good idea to charter a flight on a small plane to the a small air strip there and tour that. There are a host of other cool things to do, all ya gotta do is look for it.

Shelby is out there, not too far. You will get to see some historic pieces up close, go into the shop and buy a souvenir. Go down to original strip and walk the shops at night. Taking a bus or taxi down there is the best way.
Do not know if you are flying, rental car or driving, Route 66 if you are not in a hurry. Use the valet parking while checking out the different casinos. Google the casino food, some super food and buys. One of the casinos has a domed ceiling painted like the sky, gets weather and light changes while shopping. Wife will like all the stores.
There is a car museum in one of the casinos, just so-so, but auto related if that is your thing.
Take some good walking shoes.

The pinball museum is lots of fun if you enjoy classic arcades and pinball machines.

And I thought I was the only pinball person on the site. You on Pinside? I go by 85vett over there. If you are into pinball there is a nice line-up in the NY,NY Casino. It's located right by the roller coaster entrance. Pinball Hall of Fame is a great place to see a lot of historic games. They aren't in the best of shape though but still a lot of fun.

I'm not a big fan of shows but my wife, daughter and I really enjoyed the Blue Man group. Also, while it's not considered a show, I also recommend the Bodies exhibit. Pretty cool getting to check out the human body and all it's inner workings in the way it's set-up.

Been out there twice with wifey, and once for work (I swear we melted the company card). Here is my recommended list:
1. Caesar's Palace Drink bar out front
2. Ghost Bar or Playboy Club at the Palms is pretty sick (was $30 cover in 2008 so probably $40-50 now)
3. Rides on top of the Stratosphere
4. Cirque du Soleil shows are decent but I don't see the value in the tickets.
5. Goto Gallagher's in New York New York if you wanna ball out on a good meal
6. Buy 40's on the strip and walk around if you wanna slum.

Las Vegas is a blast even if you never drop a dollar at a table or in a machine. I usually set a limit for $150-200 in gambling when I go out, and just enjoy everything else while there. Have fun!

Besides gambling and drinking, the rides on top of the Stratosphere is my favorite thing to do. I've been 3 times with the gf and we've had a lot of fun. Only bad thing about taking her is that I like to play blackjack at the tables and she doesn't.

We just went a few weeks ago actually. If you've never been, I recommend going to the Shelby Museum. You'll have to take a cab, so the trick is to get there when they're doing a tour (10:30 AM and 1:30 I believe, its on the website), because without a tour you can be in and out in 10 minutes, but with the tour its real easy to spend 1.5 to 2 hours there hearing about all the cars. Easily the highlight of my trip.

check out the comedy shows. Last time I went I saw Larry the Cable Guy. I almost pissed myself with laughter.

also. you MUST buy the "Purple Strap On". It's a 4 foot drink, and they pour a whole bottle of liquor inside. It cost $45, but if you wanna get shit faced, it's the only way to do it. Plus everyone will stare at you, and give you a high five LOL

If you're going with the wife, options are somewhat limited.

Hoover Dam for sure. I'd recommend a night time helicopter ride over the strip. Maybe catch a few shows, Cirque du Soleil, or otherwise.

If you were going with friends, I'd have some better feedback lol. I go with a group of friends at least once a year, and most years twice.
