I've decided to purchase a gm truck. I'm going with a crew cab 4x4. My problem is I have a dealer trying to swoop in and take a sale and I'm conflicted.

Deal 1
2011 chevy 1500 crew cab 4x4
price- 33,461 out the door
trade in- 20500
pay off my car- 18400
I get back- 2100
truck options
cloth interior
power teck package- back up assist, adjustable peddles, power start, garage door opener program
stereo- mp3, ipod hook up, bluetooth, controls on wheel
cruise control
20" chrome rims
step bars
rear window defogger

Deal 2
2011 gmc 1500 crew cab 4x4
price- 34,109 out the door
trade in- 20100
pay off my car- 18400
I get back- 1700
truck options
cloth interior
power teck package- back up assist, adjustable peddles, power start, garage door opener program
stereo- mp3, ipod hook up, bluetooth, controls on wheel
cruise control
20" chrome rims
step bars
power rear window

I'm sure I have forgotten some details but that the main stuff. The only difference between the two is the chevy has rear window defogger and the gmc has power rear window slider.

So should I pay the extra price for the gmc or take the money and run with the chevy. Some will say there's no difference and there's proably not. What about resale down the road? Any insite would be great.

Cliff notes
Chevy cost 33,461 and I get 2100 cash back in hand.
GMC cost 34109 and I get 1600 cash back in hand.
Only option difference is chevy has rear window defogger and gmc has sliding rear window defogger.

I hope you are not buying this for towing your car..I had a 2010 Z71 crew cab GMC, 5.3 w/ tow pkg,and it wouldn't tow worth a shit.I would seriously look into a ecoboost F150.. If it is for light duty jobs, then they are very nice.

They both have the tow package but that's not what I'm buying it for. I drove a ecoboost. I just don't like the interior on the Ford as much.

Gmc will always cost you a grand more equally equipped. Just depends what trim you like more. Same truck different trimmings.

Does the GMC have the center console? Clearly the GMC anyway, power sliding rear window is 100% the way to go, for throwing cans in the back.

if you dont plan on towing all the time, then the 5.3 will do fine. get ya a set of LPP headers/y pipe to add lil more torque and sound good.

i pefer a gmc but see the sliding window a maintenance issue.

ecoboost is about 10k more around here.

Can get one here with the cloth interior, power windows, locks, sync, tow package for 31k. I just don't like the gray Ford cloth interior.

I drive a tahoe with lightning wheels as a DD. Is that acceptable enough?
