My guess is either Gm will offer rebates/discounts to move out inventory before the next model year or we will be seeing some revisions to the trucks.

34,109 $ with a msrp of 39,7xx. I looked at a 09 loaded with 3x,xxx miles and it would have been the same price.

I've driven chevy trucks in shitty terrain and horrible weather...and not lightly by any stretch of the imagination....they all just kind of asked for more. but so did the fords we drove. no issues. I have personally owned a chevy vortecmax (6.0) since 2008 and have put over 50k miles on it. rick is currently working a tune for me....I've had 0 issues with my truck. pulled a bed full of crap with a heavy trailer with the cobra on it and my brute force kawasaki....load was total way over 10,000 lbs. through the mountains without issue maintaining speed.
the 5.3 is a good motor, not great for towing, but a good motor and will pull, just don't expect much. that being said my pops has an 01 suburban that just passed 200k with the 5.3. he had a power steering pump go bad....that's it.
that being said. my truck was a bit of a steal when I got it. otherwise I would have gone GMC
my truck is an LTZ loaded to the tits, navigation, heated leather, console, hybrid axle, bigger brakes, HD tranny etc. got my truck from the dealer with 7 miles on it in may of 08 for 37k. wasn't an option I didn't have on the truck....
