Front plate bracket- who’s removed theirs?

And does it cause damage to the bumper BESIDES the four holes it leaves behind ?

Does it rub or touch anywhere else on the front bumper ?

I wanted to get some 1/4 plugs and paint them the same colour as the bumper afterwards.

Please share what you guys have done. Thanks!

I removed mine and put color matching plugs I got from Home Deport. The plugs really don’t bother me and really don’t detract from the appearance of the car.

Who hasn’t removed the front plate is the real question.

I made my own bracket that attaches to the upper heat exchanger brackets and does not contact the bumper at all so I can pass inspection. I then remove it for normal use.

What would you like to know?

Yeah mine has 13,000 miles and no way it will see a body shop. Those plugs work just fine for me

Which plugs did you use? I found an old thread and someone used these

I drilled out the rivets with a small bit to remove the bracket and then went to Home Deport. I got what you just found in white and they plugged the holes perfectly. I think I got the idea from the same thread.

This is what I shall do. Thank you.

Did the bracket leave any other marks aside from the holes ?

when we removed the bracket on my brothers cobra, he had a scuff on the bumper from the bracket/ plate holder rubbing. 75k mile car though. Only 1 way to find out…..

I've done worse things. But I get it. Those tiny plugs Tk is using look good. A lot better than some I've seen.

When you consider that almost every new car features front and rear sensors that are approximately half inch in size, these guys are peanuts.

FWIW, buddy with a CO '15, filled the holes with caulk and used touch-up paint.
Filled-in holes are slightly larger than OEM dimples. I never noticed until he told me.

Crappy pics, but you get the idea.

We have low mile cars. Mine looked perfect when the bracket was removed. I’m sure yours will too.

Man that’s an idea. My only question is how he did it to be so uniform. How you paint the head of it

That looks absolutely fine IMO. I hardly notice the plugs.

OP, with your LOW mileage, it is extremely unlikely that you'll see any frame to bumper rash.
