It very clearly states Ford is building a metro campus for it's automatic and electrification division. IE they are building an Apple-esque campus in downtown Detroit for it's future endeavors. It's trendy to restore old buildings like this.. makes younger folks want to come work for them, and it's in the center of the metro. Gives people the ability to walk to work/enjoy a future focused historical building. Blah blah blah.. you get it.
Finally some new life for this building besides some scenes in Transformers. Its not quite in the center of Detroit so walking to and from work would not be ideal; unless you lived in the Corktown neighborhood.
Some cool photos of Michigan Central Station for anyone that cares.
Reminds me of Minute Maid Park here in Houston where the Astros play. They renovated the old Union Station train station (built in 1911) and made it into the main entrance for the ballpark.
