Name is Jonathan. I have been lusting after the 5.0s since they came out and was considering purchasing one for some time.
I am coming from a 2009 G8 GT. Pretty heavily built -- Heads, cam, full suspension, Coan 4400 stall converter, GForce axles, TrueTrac, etc. Car was straight up built for street/strip. We finally got the tune and tranny set-up locked in well (long story short, but the transmissions on those cars are retarded when you ditch the stock stall), but I never got to run it before I traded it. Ran a best of 11.9 bouncing off the rev limiter and slipping like MFer in 1st and 2nd. Had we run it with everything fixed, it should have been around an 11.4 or so in good air.
But she had 50,000 miles on her, was mostly track runs and highway miles, and was pretty much worn out. Started worrying about stuff going wrong with all the abuse she took and all.
Before that, I had a 2005 GTO that was set up pretty similarly. It met the back end of a truck, though, when I was coming home from a track with DRs in the rain.
Moving on to the new girl.
A leftover 2013 GT. Sterling gray, saddle interior, premium, navigation. Got a great deal on her with the 2013 rebates around.
With my G8:
Have a Bassani axleback on her already. Will be getting a blower around this time next year. Not planning on doing anything else other than that (likely going with Procharger with their 5/60 powertrain warranty available).
