I just completed a cross-country road trip from Denver Colorado down to Polk county Florida. I figured I would drop some details for anyone interested.

Tow vehicle is a 2022 F150 4x4 FX4 with 5.0L V8
3.73 gears
The trip was about 1800 miles give or take.
Using 87 octane.
Truck bed packed full.
Truck cab packed full.
S550 GT 500 strapped to a trailer.
Average speed between 70 and 80 mph.
36 gallon fuel tank.

That's about what I average with my 2020 f150 and 18ft steel deck trailer

Supercrew
3.5 ecoboost
3.55 gears
93 octane

It doesn't matter if I'm towing the UTV or s197 GT. It seems to always average 13-14mpg.

Interesting, I didn't think they went into the OD's in tow mode.

I am thoroughly impressed with this truck. Did a fantastic job coming down the mountains in Tennessee. It’s like a 8% grade she handled it just fine. I didn’t have to ride the break. climbing up the mountains was no issue. The ride is comfortable. I really didn’t expect to be able to do 80 miles an hour with a trailer and a 4000 pound car.

I wonder if the 2.7 does any better?
2021 F150 Supercrew FX4 2.7 towing approx. 5000lbs will get anywhere between 15.5 - 18.1mpg on 93 octane. One trip from my house to VIR and a few trips from my house to Summit Point. Summit being the lower end of the readings i believe due to the hills on rt340 into Virginia/West Virginia. VIR is really just a flat tow down 95 and through Richmond so it was set and forget at 65-70mph the entire time.

I average 15-16mpg with my 15 3.5EB Lariat SCrew towing my Mach 1 with a Uhaul trailer.

Man… that is GREAT mpg’s. I tow a 3400 lb enclosed trailer with 3 bikes (approx 2400 lbs) to Myrtle Beach every year and only average 9 mpg with my 2018 Raptor.
