Probably, but they won’t be well known and you won’t reach such a wide consumer base.
I’m surprised a baller like you would care when the funds arrive? I send my eBay packages when eBay says it’s been paid. I don’t look at the money until later and I’m not even a baller. Weird.
Things will change. This is an opportunity for @SID297 to offer store fronts peddling wares on this site.
I'm ready to sign up when the opportunity presents itself.
Your financial illiteracy might explain why you are not a baller. Check is in the mail, amiright?
We are planning to add a much more robust classifieds system.
Hey hey hey that stuff makes good grease for sliding down hills in tubs
I haven't listed anything on Ebay in a while because well the 90's are over but can't you still request a postal money order or bank check?
I agree that it's annoying. They moved me over to Managed Payments last month. Payments are posted to my bank account in about 4 business days. I used to let the PayPal deposit build up through the month and make one transfer to my business checking account. Now I have lots of individual deposits, and that's resulted in more paperwork on my end. All in all, a royal pain in the butt.
To add to the misery of eBay's Managed Payments, I was told my a local postal rep that the USPS is going to be increasing the First Class Package rates substantially, and increasing the average delivery from 3 days to a week or more. Shipments from eBay sales are going to take longer, too. Supposedly all First Class Mail, including First Class Package is moving exclusively by truck. Sounds like only Priority Mail/Express Mail will move by plane. If all of this is what's coming (to help their financial woes), bill payments will take longer to be delivered.
Do you think the democrats who now control all branches, are throttling the USPS to increase charges and delivery time in an effort to further smash small businesses?
For all we know, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, may be getting sweetheart deals...
(I'm apologize, I'm not trying to jack the thread)
I think the last item I bought on eBay was a 99/01 Cobra throttle cable bracket. Picture showed a factory piece and I got one that was mangled but maybe usable. I left negative feedback and the seller bitched about it and tried to tell me to send it rather than tell anyone he misrepresented the item. It's sad eBay has gone south, without using MyFace communist bullspit, it's hard to find good used parts.
My biological father was a USPS rural route mailman. I went to work with him a few times and I'll say that the USPS is as much of a jobs for retards program as TSA. It was like being in a special education room without any supervision.
I don't think so, but nothing surprises me anymore. We all know that the USPS has been improperly managed for decades. With COVID-19, it just got worse. When they temporarily increased rates the last quarter of 2020 do to "increased demand", I expected more increases to soon come because the public accept that increase. They're going to rely more on truck/land transportation going forward in an effort to reduce costs. But that's only a Band-Aid fix IMO. They need to revamp the administration and take some lessons from FedEx and UPS. Sadly, neither UPS or FedEx offers a 1-lb. shipping option to compete with USPS's Priority Mail, nor do they offer an option to compete with USPS's First Class Package.
But, we get what we pay for. First class by truck only isn't first class. It's an admission of poor planning and an incompetent leadership wrapped in DC beauracracy.
It's a sad day when Amazon has a better logistics operation than the entirety of the United States Postal Service.
My Priority Mail shipments have been delivered within the quoted time. The prices have been going up last few years though. Large Flat Rate is now $22 retail.
Priority Mail will continue pretty much as is. But First Class Parcel moving from an average 3-day delivery to a week or more is a killer to some.
I'm waiting for them to announce that they will no longer offer free shipping boxes, except for pre-paid postage-included boxes. Neither UPS or FedEx offer free boxes, so it's just a matter of time before the axe falls.
I use Ebay A LOT and sell roughly $100K a year through them, I have been on the managed payment system for just under a year and I prefer it over paypal mainly because the fees are less.... sure it take a few more day to actually have the money in my bank account but honestly I almost never transferred my money out of paypal right away and waited for a larger even amount to withdraw every few days
What I don't like are multiple, daily, individual direct deposits. With PayPal I would transfer PayPal-to-Bank about once a month. I spend more time monitoring transactions now because eBay Managed Payments doesn't break out the fees at the time of the transaction. You have to wait a day or two to get a separate email notification that the funds are on the wait to your bank, and have to link back over to eBay to record the transaction fee. Just more time and steps now. I would love to go back to the way it was and pay the slightly higher PayPal fee per transaction and get billed monthly from eBay for any listing fees.
That said, if I never had PayPal to begin with I probably wouldn't be complaining about eBay Managed Payments. LOL.
Do you still get charged PayPal fees when you get paid?...or does the full amount go into your bank account?
No PayPal fees, but you pay an eBay Managed Payment fee that is a bit less than PayPal's. But you know that soon enough eBay Managed Payment fees will be the same as PayPal's. But for now, they're less.
