just got back from messing around with the car on the dyno. Very happy to say the least. Ill get right to it. Everything SAE.

Base run (what Ive been running for the last month)
25* timing

516whp
473wtq

add 1 degree of timing
526whp
485wtq

awesome....how about 27 degree's?

519whp
475wtq

obviously hates it. But I picked up 10hp and tq so thats great.

so I then grabbed the smallest jet I had for the bottle which is a .42 jet or approx 60whp (which is what I did get on this pill a couple years ago.

22* timing

608whp
545wtq

was actually a little leaner than I would like so i added 4% more fuel

625whp
555wtq

uncorrected was 635whp

for reference last year on sunoco 104 and the .48 jet the car made 602whp. and went 9.50 @ 139......time for a gear change.....

Great results Jake!

Now wasn't it worth the switch after bugging me for the last year and a half? LOL...

Solid gain on adding the 1 degree of timing. But 27 must have been the mechanical limit for your motor.

It's truly amazing on how well it wards off detonation.

Can't wait to see what she will do at the track. :pop:

yes it was...im very happy how its all working out so far. Thats what I do though, i research and bug people before doing something..lol

going to the 1/8 mile next weekend to test it out. wont finish the 1/4. 600whp I was hitting 7100rpms through the traps. Will most likely do a gear swap and hopefully doesn't hurt the blower only passes too much

I hear you. Easier to research and do it right the first time, than rush in and do it wrong, only to have to redo it later. That is why your car is where it is today!

1/8 mile should give a good indication of 1/4 mile anyway.

just got back from the track. that 10hp/tq deff shows up in the mph. best 1/8 mph ever tonight. only got 2 passes bc of a couple breaks and a ZR1 crash.....ANYWAYS

1.39
6.32 @ 108.94
9.95 @ 134.47

couple suspension adjustments and 2hrs later

1.36
6.24 @ 109.56
9.85 @ 135.02

I didn't log but looking at my tach I was seeing 6700-6800rpms. it feels like Im up there for a LONG time while the thing pulls through the traps. Deff going to order up the 3.73s and give em a whirl.

next weekend....1/8 mile and the bottle!

Maybe you should try the spray AND 26 degrees of timing one time....?

just one time? haha...ehh...don't think i would go that far. I like this motor too much to try something like that. I haven't seen anyone say its ok to leave the timing up either. Everyone including people on the E85 forums said to back it down the same as gas. Could it work? yes it could but Im not going to find out. Ill take the 100hp gain from 60hp worth of n2o.

lol. Ok maybe 24-25 degrees then... Give it a shot and maybe break that 650 bearer...

Worst thing is you break the motor and then you can ARP it and put 10:1 compression pistons in it with AP stainless piston rings.

that IS the worst thing that could happen. Don't want that right now.

Im willing to be the 48 jet will make 640-650whp. Let me get the gears in the car and I will find out

You running 4.10's right now? If so, just drop down to 3.90's. I wouldn't drop the whole way from 4.10's to 3.73's. That's like going from 26" tires to 28". That's taking a lot of gearing away. Thoughts?

3.90s wont do much. maybe 150rpm drop which is nothing. Ill gain that back going to the 100 shot. I want to cross the traps under 7100 on the bottle. that high scares me a bit

This is a little old but OP i was wondering if you knew what the approx hp values for .48 jet are you said for a .42 jet its roughly about 60hp jet. I was just wondering as we are getting to tune my buddys 2.3 whipple on spray and E-85 and looking to see what different jets will gain us power wise.

Thanks

Nitrous Oxide fuel Jet size and HP Calculator nos n2o

.042 is 75 crank, 60whp
.048 is 100 crank, 85whp
.053 is 125 crank, 110whp

these are just approximations. obviously drivetrain and engine setup come into play

I guess if i would have looked harder i could have found that:bash: but that was the exact info i was looking for. Did you change your gearing yet or take it back to the track im interested to see what your car runs on the spray and E-85:beer:
