I dynoed the new engine today. With Scott Hasty Tuning, it made 1101 rwhp and 839 rwtq at 20.9lbs of boost from the VMP Performance, Gen 3R! Sweet! Thats quite an improvement over the last numbers. Should be good for mid 8's maybe now! Duty cycle must getting close to being maxed out.
LOL! The numbers folks are making nowadays is bonkers, and they can be daily driven. Wasn't that long ago most would be "track only". Crazy with the number of cars making over 1000whp. Congrats!
Thank you. It had 888 rwhp with the Gen 3 when I went 8.94. 200+ more should definitely be worth a solid gain. I'm thinking 40's for sure, but who knows. It'll have to be extrapolated, as I'm going 1/8th mile when I go back. Maybe try for 5.40's as a goal and take it from there. I was hoping for 1000-1050, as this combo with stock cams and not going max effort on blower speed was a big unknown. Definitely a happy result. Lambda was .79 and max timing is 22*. Very nice! Love your car the look and of course the power. Where's the reservoir for the intercooler? Sent from my SM-G935V using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Wow, very impressive results- congratulations! I bet it is a lot of fun! Your short block recipe is great in that you got extra displacement and durability without going to aftermarket sleeves. I’m surprised you’re still on a stock converter. Do you have any thoughts on what an aftermarket converter would net you?
Very nice build - what made you go with a gen 3 5.2 over the gen 2 5.2- is it worth the $ 900 extra for the block ? I assume your running the stock converter unlocked, cant believe the stock one would hold lock up at those numbers. (well at least not for long) Again awesome build.
Thanks, and that's exactly what I was going for. I feel like I will be in the 1.2x - 60' either way. And even then, it would be splitting hairs on how we move power/tq around. We were taking power out to achieve the 1.32, back when I was making 888 rwhp and ran the 8.94. I had a stock uca at the time and we didn't want to hurt it, making the rear end separate, so we set it up neutral. I have an uca now and it's setup to separate, I can't wait to test it out. My main focus is street driving though, and nothing beats a tight, stock converter for the street experience if you have some power off idle. It's so responsive, it's addictive. It is. It's got some extra ribbing and is beefier. I made a whole write up on it, on my FB group. I paid $1850 for the block. You order a 2019, GT350 block and it's the same thing as a Predator block, minus some dowels. Ford switched over to Gen 3 blocks, so when the Gen 2's ran out, they started shipping Gen 3's when orders for GT350 blocks came in. My stock converter has been to Circle D. They changed the friction material and added anti ballooning plates. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
Progress, awesome to see your new set up tuned and getting dialed in. Can't wait for you to get some track times with it. Is it to early to look ahead at the VMP 3.1 TVS, haven't heard any details but I'd imagine you are on the short list for testers . Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
