Hey fellas,
I ordered a 55w hi/lo kit for the headlights and a 55w fog light kit with the added harness that was suggested. I installed the headlights no problem. Ran all the wires so they're clean and hidden and they work flawlessly. I'm installing the fog lights now. I've tried every possible way to plug them in (I think) and they won't even turn on. I tried with and without the harness. They haven't come on either way.

What am I doing wrong? Anyone else have issues installing the 55w fog kit with harness??

Ok fellas, I'm giving up for the night. After messing with it for an hour, I put the factory halogen bulbs back in and neither of them worked so I must have blown a fuse or something. Fog light switch in the car has power but the lights aren't coming on so I think fuse issue it likely my problem.

I don't have an owners manual on this thing. Anyone care to tell me what fuse or fuses could be responsible for my issue? I don't see any information on the lid of the fuse box under the hood and the ones under the dash are numbered but again... Nothing to reference them to.

Thanks in advance!

I appreciate it man. I've always had good luck with the DDM kits. I'd think a bad ballast could be a possibility if it was just one of them but both at the same time is too coincidental not to have another problem. But... I ordered 5 55w kits so I have extra ballasts to try if needed so ill double check that just to eliminate it as a possible issue.

After googling similar issues... I've pretty much narrowed it down to a fuse issue or the possibility that I might have the pins in the main connector in the wrong spot even though I followed instructions I found online for the order I installed them in. The highs and lows work 100% perfect as they should.

I put the brown wire in the center of the blue connector, the white wire to the left and the blue wire to the right like someone said to do online. This is lookin into the blue connector with the flat side on top.

I found this thread that shows how to wire the fogs individually so i can run them with just the marker lights or with the high beams. I'd like to do this anyway but could this fix my issue as well?

That'll work homie! I appreciate it! I'm going to figure out which fuses are responsible for the fogs and see if I have one blown. If that's the case, ill prob have it fixed. If not, the troubleshooting will begin. I was just hoping to have all the little stuff 100% complete before u got here so we could slap the KB on and be done.

If you put the stock fogs back in and they didn't work then you probably did blow a fuse. When you went to plug them in you probably had the ballasts plugged in backwards (I did this before) causing the fuse to blow. I'd check that out first.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Can anyone tell me off hand which fuses are responsible for the fog lights both under the dash and under the hood so I can check them?

helping you search and found a site that has some pretty cool info on it.

Top diagram is for the fuse box under the dash, and if you scroll down towards the bottom there is another one for the fuse box in the engine bay. Theres 2 pages with some good info on it for the 03-04 cobra specifically.

FYI 55W ballasts for your fog lights are going to ROAST the reflective finish off the bowls... Thats way to much heat for such a small space.

They claim its a possibility but I read that a lot of folks had the 55w in their fogs with no issues. Our housings aren't as small as a lot of the other fogs on other cars that have the melting issues. And our lens is glass not plastic.

if it is too hot - it will normally crack the glass lens. If others say 55W is fine - then I'm sure it won't be an issue.

Well I hope its not an issue. I did quite a bit of research before I ordered them. I was ok with going 35w on the fogs but I was concerned about having them match top and bottom so I ordered the 55w 6k kits for both. I ran them on my old cts-v with no issues at all.

do you have smoked headlights? I'm curious how much better hid's are in a smoked headlight as I cant see crap out of my car at night.

I have stock headlights right now. I like the smoked look but not at the expense of visibility. Been there done that. Ill go with some black housing headlights with clear lenses before I go smoked.

But... HID's would def improve visibility in a smoked lens vs your standard halogen setup.
