I was at a ski resort a few years ago in Colorado. I'm used to seeing the sky with a lot of street lights, etc. on. Well, up there you could swear you could reach out and touch the moon. Elimininate the extraneous lights and you end up with a much clearer sky and the illusion that everything is so much closer.
