As a fan of fine whiskey (particularly Bourbon) who also likes a bargain, it was only natural that I would pick up a bottle ( 1 liter) of Costco's new Small Batch Bourbon. I'm here to report that it is quite good, much better than it's $20 retail price would suggest. It's made by Barton Brands, which is mostly known as a manufacturer of Party Liquor. They are punching above their weight class on this one, and I'm looking forward to trying the other two varieties ( Bottled-In-Bond and Single Barrel) that Costco plans to release in the future.

Costco has excellent wines and liquors. Great prices, too, especially the Kirkland brand.

I don't think my Costco has a liquor store here. Pretty sure all the liquor stores here are run by the state.

*edit* looking up the laws now to confirm and Holy hell, happy hours are illegal

I recently tried Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack. Great stuff!

That's some good stuff. I often give it as a present.

What state is that? I need to know so I can avoid it.

Your northern counterpart if I'm correct in thinking you're in SC

I'm totally impressed with Kirkland Signature products. Never thought that would extend to alcohol as well. Excellent report.

Costco can go eat a big fat D. Dropped that fascist corporation when they pushed there nazi mask policy without exemptions.

Love me some gentlemen jack. I actually prefer it over the single barrel. It’s the smoothest whiskey I have tasted to date.

NC needs to get with the times. It wasn't that long ago that a Sunday beer run in SC required a trip across the state line.

Indiana went to Sunday sales less than 2 years ago. Still can’t buy cold beer anywhere but a liquor store.

Our Costco had exemptions for masks, it was a corporate policy not the local stores. A few of their employees died early last year from the rona so they went a little overboard.
If you like smooth, try the Pendleton 20year. Not a bourbon, but smoothest whiskey I have ever had.

I wonder if Kirkland has a coconut rum. I'll have to check. My wife and I visit Costco at least weekly, and it's where I buy our gas.

I did find out the Costco sells Malibu coconut rum at a 36% savings. I'd love to pick up a bottle at that savings over my local liquor store.

I am not surprised honestly. I have yet to be disappointed with any Kirkland booze.

I actually like the 12 year blended scotch. To me it's smother than Glenlivet 12 year and comes across as smokey caramel.

I'm pretty sure my boat is incapable of leaving the dock without a bottle of that stuff onboard.

It does not.

I’m gonna save 100% of my money by not giving any to Costco. And give at least 10% to someone that really needs it. :)
