If you add my entry (post #114) it'd drop the 2.9 Whipple Crusher numbers a bit. We only made 2 pulls though and we were happy with 777/744.

That's badass. I always wondered what a well setup 2.9 would do.

What are the specs on the cams Todd did for you? He thought my cams had to much duration so curious what you got.

You were in the spreadsheet, not sure why you weren't showing up. Probably had a filter on shortblock, I've added you to the averages

I guess my car didn't make it in on the 3.4 numbers its stock long block car.

low 230's in duration and .475 max lift.

That's very similar to mine. Intake was .475 lift with 238 duration @ .050 and exhaust .450 lift with 240 duration at @ .050. Where did Todd have you degree your cams? I went with ICL 110 and 116 LSA.

^^ When you include the heads themselves, it gets extremely expensive in porting, valves, bigger seats, guides, springs, cams, timing gear etc etc.

Stiegemeier wanted $3500 to port my heads. After asking around I found out a very well known cylinder head shop in Kansas City called Nolands has a guy working there who ports heads on side. His company is called "new kid cylinder heads" and he's been porting heads for over 15 years. He has a whole binder of pictures and examples of his work from the early days on up showing his work and flow bench testing etc. He charged me $650 to port my heads and $100 for the lower intake manifold port and gasket match. $750 out the door. Seemed very reasonable to me.
Cams on the other hand got real expensive real quick. When you add in springs, retainers, timing gears and all that.

How much were your custom cams if you don't mind me asking?

Cams were $1300, springs and retainers where $400 some. Ended up been $1800 some change to my door. Then I had to buy adjustable cam gears. While not required I've heard the secondary chains can snap from the extra stress of the stiffer springs so I replaced them with GT500 secondary chains and stock OEM replacement primary chains. Didn't really add all that up but it was well over 2 grand for cams. Consider labor too if you plan to pay someone to install and or degree them. I did it myself.
