Hey guys, here's a link to the CFM Performance valve cover breather gallery on our facebook page if you'd like to check them out: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...59.1073741826.34671092958&type=1&l=efd8a32c00

I would like to bring to your attention that this product is not just a cosmetic add-on but a functional part that allows unwanted positive crankcase pressure to escape which eliminates long term oil seal damage and prevents leaks. This is also the only breather with a baffle to keep oil particles from saturating the filter element and a check ball to keep unmetered air from entering the PCV system. This is the correct way to vent crankcase pressure rather than eliminating the PCV system like most people do.

Here's some good reading material on how crankcase ventilation works and why it is important for your high performance engine: http://www.shophemi.com/images/media/p-2273-arrington_ccv_bible.pdf

Our valve cover breather perform a completely different role from a catch can / oil separator and plays a large role in proper crankcase ventilation. We highly recommend running BOTH on all applications because they serve different purposes.

If you've disabled your PCV system to aid in venting the crankcase, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!

Is there any reason to replace your factory oil cap with one of these if you already have breathers on your valve covers?

Yes, more crankcase pressure will be able to exit through our breather than through the small breathers on the valve covers. With our breather it is no longer necessary to disable the PCV system to vent crankcase pressure. The PCV system serves a purpose and I highly recommend keeping it functional. The correct way of doing it is by installing at least one separator on the PCV line and running our breather.

Thanks. Not interested in keeping the PCV functional. Just wanted to make sure that adding this in conjunction with the existing valve cover breathers is beneficial and would not create any problems.

No problem. It will only increase the amount of pressure that can exit the engine and will not create any issues at all.

Will this fit with valve cover breathers on? I'm looking at the photo on CFM's product page and it looks like it would be pretty tight with a K&N breather on the valve cover right next to it.

what are you using for a novi 2200sl (2013 GT) setup for oil separation and or breather?
Kit or purchase parts separate? The kit linked pg 1 doesnt appear to fit most SC setups.
Thanks,
