I bet they sure look the part though, all tacti-cooool...totally off topic...I went to a pre-season Texans game in august. Most of the officers directing traffic, etc around the stadium were in shorts or fairly light clothing, except for one m'fer in full battle rattle from head to toe...LMFAO, dude had to be roasting in that shit.
So you're saying that localities would rather throw money at swat giving them new toys to play with instead of better training? Color me shocked

My gripe is these guys are wearing multi-cam, carrying MK18’s with suppressors, PEQ15’s and NVD’s on a no knock raid. I can’t understand why they would need the capability to quietly shoot Americans in the middle of the night without being seen or heard first.
If nobody else is in the house, what's the rush? This guy wasn’t just a shoplifter, he had a shootout with the police and barricaded himself inside the poor guy’s home. The police aren’t going to wait for a month for the guy to finally come out after he potentially shoots someone. Gas was deployed and was ineffective apparently. Shoplifting is hardly the focal point in this, but simple minded people just clue in on that and don’t rationalize the rest.
Did you expect the police to just leave an armed and dangerous suspect who burglarized a home(higher offense than shoplifting) and shot at the police(a higher offense than shoplifting and burglary)? All other tactics failed and taking apart pieces of the home was the proper step in that situation.
19 hours is not a rush. That’s an extremely long time for a barricade to continue. It isn’t a viable option to simply wait the guy out while he tries to snipe people through a window. He would probably stay in there indefinitely and that’s a lot of risk to leave him be because of property damage. If nobody else is in the house, what's the rush?
(I'm not saying you're right or wrong, just trying to have a dialog asking simple/stupid questions)

There are perfectly good reasons for all those things you disagree with. You do not understand the job or the necessities of the job.
I obviously didn't read the article so I didn't know it was a 19hr thing.19 hours is not a rush. That’s an extremely long time for a barricade to continue. I feel bad for the homeowner, but he needs to sue to suspect(although we know he will get nothing out of it). Under the circumstances the police should not be held liable. If a gun wasn’t involved and no shooting then the police would not have destroyed the home.
The homeowner definitely got bent over. It’s a very bad situation I wish on nobody.I obviously didn't read the article so I didn't know it was a 19hr thing.
In before Wako reference
Let's say the police went in with boots on the ground and only damaged the entryway (while risking lives of LEOs) and then shot and killed the suspect. That death in the home has to be disclaimed in order to sell, right? What happens to the value lost due to that death in the home that has (arguably) little connection to the owner?
I understand I'm asking what ifs and hypotheticals so I'm not expecting an amazing response.
End of the day, homeowner still got bent over.

No I’m not ****ing kidding, calm down Pelosi.R U ****ing kidding me???? The homeowner got completely ****ed in this deal. And you want him to waste his ****ing time suing the deadbeat perp??
The homeowner is gonna appeal to SCOTUS and I hope he gets MILLIONS in damages and other costs. This incident is total BS, but hey, the cops probably had a great time and went out for a lot of celebratory beers afterwards.
It looks like the only recourse would be to sue the perp, but we all know that's a dead end streetNo I’m not ****ing kidding, calm down Pelosi.
