I'm looking for a 7.3 Godzilla to put in a car I'm building for my daughter. There are several 7.3 brand new take outs for sale and body builders but they're the 350hp version of the 7.3 godzilla instead of the F-series 430hp model. Does anyone know where the difference between them is? I see compression is the same for both......did ford actually just detune them with the PCM? or do they have a different cam, heads, etc.

It would be great if someone was a Fords parts guy and could look up the actual parts differences in the motors.

Thanks

It's only the tune. Look at the RPMs where each engine makes peak power and their respective redlines.

I see mention of removing the rev limiter of the 350hp version to restore max power. I'm not sure what the rev limit is as I haven't found that yet. I do see the 350hp is at 3900rpm and the 420hp is at 5500rpm. So apparently the rev limiter is set to 3900rpm?

Bingo. A tune will fix it and then some.
