I get it's mid engine but even with modern transmissions it takes a certain amount of power to make a weight accelerate at a certain rate.
im not even gonna respond any further than this... ure right...... 500HP from a c8 is the absolute limit. no way to make it outrun a zr1. the tranny wont take it.... i have to join arabian oaks country club to be fast and get the good tranny thats in the C7zr1. got it. understood.
Never said that nor did anyone else. Argument was C8 is making more power then represented in the title.
power means nothing without the chassis, suspension, etc to set things up...i don't act that way, I am telling you that it is NOT POSSIBLE that a c8 with "bolt-ons" is beating a gt500 in a roll race.

The C8 is a great car and you should be proud of what you have been able to accomplish. Just be careful about boasting too much. Let the car do the talking. Just know there is always someone who has more money and is faster.
The Plaid lap you are referring to was gutted on slicks with aero... and that'd be a one or maybe two lap wonder on the USA's most point and shoot track.

that C8 is for sure spraying. my lowly old 17yr old Benz pulls pretty soundly on a stock C8. stock GT500s trap 129-131 bone stock. C8s trap low 120-121. homie aint making up 10mph in trap on a car that can't be tuned.
I don't know if it is spraying or not but if it was a 200 shot, then I think it would have left the GT 500.
no shit... but the car cant be tuned yet via ecu. The female with the 1200HP c8 and the fuel tek car allll run like 2 or 3 standalone ECUs to lie to the ECU. The problem is that strategy isnt very efficient. There is NO WAY to pull timing or reduce engine torque between shifts the way we could if we had access to the ECU. As soon as someone can get into this ECU and make adjustemnts the RIGHT way... its gonna be a terror. Im looking for the prices of these goddam turbo kits to come down a LITTLE and tune it via ECU and make 750 HP or so. I would be content at that power level. I love the car though. its sharp as hell. its LIGHT(er) which always makes things easier. People already make upgraded clutches for it to hold power. I wouldnt want to pay for or trust ANY piggyback system in a car that im driving alot on the street. Itll happen eventually. Itg would also be nice to reduce weight even firther and end up at 3200 pounds. Maybe im dreaming about that weight reduction though... who knows.
