unless your maxed on Bolt ons wait for cams. They will not do to much with a 'stage' grind. a Mach 1 Cam gain might give a little but not worth the amount of work they require. Get a set of custom ground cams from a reputable company thats made specifically for your needs to get decent gains for the money.

hmm, well i have no experience with any of your options. however, i understand your initial question unlike everyone else above seemed to. i'd be interested in the '01 exhaust and the mach1 intake cam setup. try it out and let us now!

why the 01' exhaust and mach intake??

i thot vice versa would be a better combo??

well, i had always read that the 99/01 cobra intake cams are pretty weak, especially for low end. from what it seems, the mach1 intake cams are what make the difference in low and mid range torque. i could be wrong though, so hopefully someone else will chime in....

well heres the specs:

Mach 1, 03/04 Cobra, Aviator, Marauder and Navigator(intake) Specs:
Intake: 184 deg @ .050/.394 lift
Exhaust: 196 deg @ .050/.397" lift

99/01 Cobra Cam Specs:
Intake: 196 duration @.050/392 lift
Exhaust: 194 duration @.050/390 lift

i thot the 12* more duration with the 01's would be more beneficial than the .002 of lift with the machs.....???

and as far as tq goes. i belive it has alot to do with the heads.....

you could be right, but i'm gonna step down here. i don't know enough about cam specs to know what makes a good combo. i think the torque difference is a combination of the 03+ heads and the cams, leaning heavier towards the cams. this is what i have read at least.

Use the 01 cams (intake and exhaust) or better yet, drop a $100 for 96-98 cams and use the intakes. You get a little more intake duration; this si the same setup that the factory stock racers use (04/03 heads and 96-98 cams).

whats the deal with the whole primary and secondary lobe deal on the 96-98's????

so....C heads with 96-98 intake cams and my 01' exhaust cams, that would be a good budget N/A combo??

the mildest cams I would bother to put in are FR500's
FR500 cam specs
Intake: 258 deg. @ .003 w/ .472 lift
Exhaust: 254 deg. @ .003 w/ .472 lift
Centerline: 109 (intake and exhaust)

You already know the answer to your own question. I dont understand why people keep on giving you answers you dont ask for.

Heres what I would do. 01 intake cams + the mach exhaust cams, would be a good budget cam setup.... It will give you good low and mid range power, plus a little extra sauce on the top end.
