This event changed to

February 23rd, 2008

Julie emailed Borla to get info about the Open House and here is the nice response she got. I will start a sign-up list here for the event, they would like some sort of head count for how many people will show so they can order enough food. Borla is located in Oxnard, close to Pt. Hueneme.

From Chris @ Borla:
Due to commitments to the Daytona event and other race events in the next week, we have rescheduled this Open House at Borla to February 23, 2008. That is a Saturday and the program will be from 8 am to 2:30pm (unless we can’t get everyone’s system installed by then and we will stay late to do that). This event will be geared towards the Shelby and Mustang (Late model SN95 and S197 platforms)

We are looking to expand the program and including some dyno testing and ECU tuning with a Nationally know programmer. We will be giving tours of the Borla facility plus some Q&A sessions with members of our engineering staff. There will also be some nice cars available including New Shelby’s, Real 427 Cobras, Ford GT and the like. We will provide some hot dogs or pizza for everyone and sodas. Our plan is to offer a significant discount to people who pre-order systems. We will also do a free installation for pre-ordered systems. So they get a discount and a free factory install by the same guys who do our race systems and work in the R&D department. One of the persons who pre-orders will be drawn out of a hat and receive a free system. Since I imagine we will only be installing 25 systems or so that is pretty good odds. You will have to register and order your system by February 20th to be eligible for the free system. You will have a choice of a refund on the system you just had installed or Sniper Tune programmer and custom programming (normally about $1000). There will be other free items including Borla Motorsports shirts, Race Calendars, Borla hats and decals given to all that attend.

While we have these events every so often, they are directed at a certain mark (ie: BMW, Corvette, Porsche and the like). Thus it could be a couple years before we have another one at the factory for the Mustangs.

Thanks and I hope you and your fellow Mustang enthusiasts can make it to the Borla Open House.

Sincerely,
Chris Kaufmann

Geez so I'll bake ya a cake! Come celebrate with a bunch of Mustang people! What could be better? Glenn and both our kids will be celebrating their bdays at Fabulous Fords! (again)

I'll probably end up going. I need to meet some of you guys already. The only person I know with a mustang is my brother lol. I also think im the only one in Fillmore with any type of cobra? Maybe some folks can take a cruise after? Hopefully I can get some suspension mods on this nasty ol vert by then.

Im gonna guess and say they are talking about exhaust systems? Im actually quite confused as to whats going on.:smmon:

Yes, looks like plans include focusing on the 4th and 5th gen Mustang's exhaust systems. They will have tours of the facility, let you talk to their designers (now's your chance to voice your opinions), a dyno here and there, food, stuff like that. I think it is a great opportunity to view the factory and throw our 2c worth in as to what exhaust sounds good and what we are looking for as consumers. You don't have to own a Mustang, your Mustang does not HAVE to be a 4th or 5th gen in order to participate, it's an open house! Plus, sounds like some nice freebies will be handed out!:-D In order to receive a formal snail-mail invite be sure to send me or Borla your mailing address, phone # and email address.
