I watched this the other night. What a beast.
I can only imagine how much this bad boy cost to produce. It must be a bitch to drive as well. She's a bigg'un.

Are these common or are they a new thing? If that’s how you make your living I guess that truck is the Mac daddy. Super nice.

I watched this video like two days ago because it appeared in my recommended section. LOL

They're not super new, but you see more of them today than you did yesteryear. The men and women who own and drive these, will be gone anywhere from three weeks to three months or more at a time. This is, for all intent and purposes, their homes. They are smaller RV's with the capability of pulling semi weight.

    No drivers actually want that.

    Needs some slides.

I see a lot of Reliable tractors with larger sleepers.

And what exactly will they haul with such a ridiculous wheelbase?

You’d have trouble not high centering that thing all over the place.

Wrong. Look at Reliable Carriers. These are mostly used by O/O flatbed drivers though.

Well, Reliable uses trucks like this, and those aren't small trailers by any means. But like I said above, they'll mostly be used by flatbed drivers. These guys usually aren't the ones who have to back in to tight spots, but rather pull in and wait.

Well if you had to live/work out of your truck it might as well be comfortable. I bet the price tag on that thing is insane.

I'm a fan of a simple 48" flat top Pete kind of a guy, however the setups they build is pretty amazing. I see a lot of guys that own them with military contracts for hauling flatbed/step deck. As a wholesaler tho..... it's like buying an older fix/flip house, you have to look at the underside very carefully. Seen quite a few that end up with flooring issues from condensation of the showers.

a lot of O/O (owner operators) who work for, as someone just said, Reliable and moving companies for example tend to buy these because they're always back hauling to keep the tires moving.
I personally think it's more of a headache to try and maneuver something with that long of a wheelbase than anything else.

The husband/wife in the video don't haul very large cargoes from what I heard in the video.
They haul smaller freights, but they say the cargo they are carrying is paying them more money than those that haul way more weight. Good deal if you ask me. lol

These are for people who mainly do expedite, huge money in it. You do a husband and wife combo team and you're good to go. Only main issue i would see with something like, peterbilt and cummins are a pain in the ass to work on. Dealerships normally only have proprietary software, so you can read the cummins side but not the peterbilt side.

I’d say that’s the only time it’s useful

That’s why people haul crude oil. Pays better than a lot of other commodities .. and you’re home every night.

Oh for sure. It's definitely not for an O/O at a company like Swift or USA Truck. LOL

These folks haul specialized loads that pay much more than the average OTR dry van.
