Rich people....???????

Looks like he spent more money on the Audi than on his small house....

Why the hell would you drive a car that nice in the snow... especially just to go to Bed Bath & Beyond

My Carrera & Cobra dont even see rain let alone salty, snowy roads...

+1, i would think from a guy that drives a R8, his house would be alot nicer.

any car could drive in those conditions, there was bareley any snow on the srteet. that dudes house was pretty shitty to have a car like that, i'd rather have a nicer house and a lesser car than that douche

sweet car, nice pos house

Here, you jackasses:

Snowstorm Chasing in an Audi R8

Snowstorm Chasing in an Audi R8
By EZRA DYER

A few days before Christmas, the first big storm of the winter swept up the East Coast, bringing howling winds and blinding snow. It was the kind of weather that causes the citizenry to stock up on groceries, beer and ammo, just in case the snow precludes travel until March.

By the time the storm reached my home just outside Boston, it was losing strength. But the roads were still treacherous, and it was no time to take a frivolous drive — especially in the 525-horsepower, $163,000 exotic that I happened to be testing at the time. However, the machine in question was an Audi R8 V-10, the German cousin to the Lamborghini Gallardo. Like the Gallardo, the R8 has all-wheel drive. Unlike most Gallardos, this R8 also had snow tires. Which meant that when I absolutely had to run an important errand, I fired up the V-10, cranked up the seat heaters and set out to discover how the R8 would behave when pressed into duty as one of the world’s fanciest snowmobiles.

Cool car, but that was hardly stay-at-home conditions. A real blizzard is when even the plows stay home *L*.

Thanks for clearing that up "Longhornd00d." So many people jump to conclusions in this thread. And what if he bought the car, some people like condo's and small houses, ulitmately everyone has different tastes. It's not solely based on priorities. Now if someone owned that car living is a shack, completely different story.

Well it is SVTP, where everyone is a doctor/astronaut/lawyer/CEO of a Fortune 500 company/etc., owns million dollar homes, and wipes their ass with $100 bills.

Phew - I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one :D

Seriously though - that was pretty funny, although I was also in that snowstorm and the conditions weren't all that bad. We were out the morning after the snow fell in a Suburban 4WD and had fun drifting it and entertaining the kids in the back seat.

There have been some good articles in Car & Driver about snow driving recently. Their basic conclusion: RWD + good snow tires > AWD + all-season tires, and >>> summer performance tires.

And the point of that video was???

I guess the point was that he was testing the car and writing an article about it...

But HAHAHAHA....It was his house and the roads were not that bad....I have driven in worse with rear wheel driven sports cars....

Its just a shame to ruin a car like that with road salt and snow all over the engine....

And yes I dont drive my Cobra or Carrera in the rain...That is why I have a daily driver....

I wonder how many members outside of Boston area know that even a tiny little house like that can easily run for 300k+.........

First off, you couldn't actually see much of the house to judge it. Secondly, who's to say this if his primary home nor do you know the area he is at and the cost of the houses? 3rd, if you actually bothered to read the link provided in the youtube, they guy tells you that he was test driving. He is probably a reporter for a car magazine/online reviews.

You also don't need to be "rich" to own a 120-150k car.

Sure you could see the house....Secondly you could also see the neighborhood that he was driving through...The homes all looked small and old (35+)

Your right...you do not need to be rich to own a $120K-$150K car...You just need to be mortgaged out the ass for the rest of your life...

That is the same priciple on all these homes that are being forclosed on...Everyone wants to play rich and buy more than they can afford.....

But anyway I was wrong....It wasnt his car.....He was writing an article on the car....but still... I would not have driven a car like that in conditions like that...

peace...

I'm actually kinda impressed. :lol1:

IDK who would want to drive one in the snow, but its kinda cool knowing that the R8 can hold its own in the snow if it needs to. Lets see a ZR1 or Viper try that (wait... no.... Because I dont want them to crash the cars).
