That’s what I did. Kept both 03 cobras, and added a 13 GT500. It made the most sense to me. However I don’t have what most others have. I’m not married, I have no children, I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke cigarettes. So my only vice is my cars.
No porn subscriptions? lol! j/k
Once I kicked my kids out and stuff, I really felt the breathing room financially. But, I have been very fortunate in my hobby and a wife who is not vindictive or pouts over car stuff

This. I love my 14, but i would love to get both my Cobra’s back. Eventually i will add a 03-04 back but i know its going to be some coin for sure.

It doesn't go w/o mentioning though, the Cobras were a spring board $$ to afford the GT500 though. So, give and take I guess

I’ll admit I’ve acquired my cars before my ladyfriend came into the picture. However she’s been a very supportive woman in my life. She’s always been there during my long days, and nights working on the GT500. That car was no walk in the park when I got it. Rear end needed replaced, clutch was installed improperly, pressure plate, intercooler pump failed 3 times, and the wiring burnt up. She stood by me and supported the build and even bought me parts that I had pulled up on my laptop to surprise me. I’m fortunate in that aspect, it’s nice to hear others having that support. It’s refreshing to hear.

I purchased my 2013 GT500 with the intention of possibly selling my 04 Cobra. I will say I absolutely love driving the GT500. To the point where I haven't taken the car cover of the Cobra in almost 4 weeks . In the 2 months of ownership I have put some serious miles on it. Definitely a more refined car.
My wife absolutely loves (GT500) it, we take it every Sunday morning to i-hop for breakfast. with that being said It doesn't get the looks that the Cobra gets when I am out cruising around. Definitely having 2nd thoughts on selling it?

No doubt the gt500 is more bang for the buck with the terminator prices where they are.

As a new owner of an 01 Cobra, I underestimated what it's like to own a 20+ year old car on a 40 year old chassis.

However, I can't get around the looks of a 07-09, they just don't look good to me.
It’s the best looking Shelby. When ford went to the Dodge Ram front grill in 2010+ they ruined the car for me.

I dig the 07-09s body style, they have that retro look, and with a nice stance and wheels they look hot! The big thing for was the features on the 13-14s Recaros, PP, big brakes.

Nah nah nah. Sentiments don't count!

Merits of the vehicles.

Go!
Okay okay. I’d go with the 2003 cobra. I’m more of a raw feeling person. I love the IRS in the car, the power punch you get. There is no pansy ass Nannie’s that catch you if you mess up. Raw steel, straight sex appeal. They’re quick for what they’re, Especially in 2003. The T-56 in them I felt was amazing. So if I had to choose them I’d go with the 2003 over the 2013. I don’t think many things compare to the sound of a 4V Modular motor either. I’m also a fan of the 3:55 over the 3.31 gears. It doesn’t feel as raw, and as fast because it feels like it just goes forever.

Would whole heartedly agree. My SB was a modified panty dropper. For better or worse it drew alot of attention. Although I’m in a Shelby now, this thread has spurred memory lane. My vote is cobra. But all the cool guys had the gt500 in my Zip back in the early late 00s which I was always envious of. Always pushing more power than what my budget allowed. So years later now I’m living A bit of nostalgia. No regrets, as William Cowper's poem The Task says, “Variety is the very spice of life, that gives it all its flavor.”

I couldn’t agree more. It’s kinda like how we all had that car as all wanted as a kid, or in our younger years. I was 11 when the car came out. So to me this was the cats pajamas. It was everything I wanted, I’ve always been a mustang guy. It was right when YouTube had come out. So the “Snake Bite Cobra” came out. I watched that video for Years and years. I can’t think of many times I’ve ever looked at the Shelby’s and was like man. That’s the one for me. However the 03/04 Cobras have always looked menacing, and sounded amazing.

Great review right here.

Full disclosure I have never owned a Terminator.

Im having a tough time choosing my next toy that will either be a 03/04 Cobra or a 03-05 c5 z06 (which I have owned in the past).

Everyone that describes how the Cobra drives and feels reminds me of exactly how the c5z drove/felt.

If I’m honest. The Shelby GT500. More for the fact of sentimental value.
I can understand that. Probably why the 03 cobra is more for me than the GT 350.

I’ve driven a GT350. I loved it, high RPM shifts, the sound is makes. I love it. I loved my S550 GT. Loved it a lot. I’ll add a GT350 to my stable one of these days. There is just such a love I have for the 03/04 cobras. That’s why if I ever sold one, within months I’d have another. I can’t live without one.

You’re more than welcome to come take either one of mine out for a rip, I mean it. My brother in laws friend has a C6 Z06. I drove it, I loved it also. I’m used to corvettes due to my brother having a 2007 C6 Z51. I know the 6.0 not the 6.2 in 2008 lol. Anyways, they’re awesome cars that 7.0L for the C6 Z06 is astonishing. I know the wonders of the valve guides dropping etc, however it’s no different than head tick on the 03/04 cobras. Some do, some don’t. Even the head threads being meh, until the 9thread heads. Every car/motor has their weak points. If I were you I’d get an 03/04 cobra. I know I’m biased however, I’d be lying if I said I ever drove, or even ridden in a C5 Z06. So I can’t speak on it.
