Since moving to the beach in South Carolina I took the car off the lift after the winter and opened the hood to find these aluminum gremlins all over my heads, brackets, oil pan etc. Can anyone tell me how to remove this oxidation and lastly what to put on it to stop it from happening again. Thank You-Dale

I've heard some of these spray on wheel cleaners does a decent job, but I have not personally tried it. While I had my engine down, I used something called aluminum prep and a brass bristled brush to get some of my parts looking new again. Some of my parts were past the wipe down stage.

I used to have a north facing garage that stayed "cold" and I'd get periodic condensation when I'd open the doors on some days. This would soak everything in the garage like a cold beer can on a hot humid day.

A little WD40 on a rag remedied the oxidation
