As promised in previous posts of similiar type here's the pics. of my authentic Alcantara interior accents. For one, it's not a show car, I just got sick of the plasticky look AND feel of the OEM interior. I wanted to do something diffrent and more subtle then the color match painting and hydro-carbon I've seen. I prefer the tactile difference Alcantara provides which neither paint nor hydro-carbon can accomplish.
I had the A-pillars, top of dash defrost vent, gauge bezel, speaker pods, steering wheel, door cups, door pull cups, bottom door panels, shift knob and boot, E-brake handle and boot, and console lid covered. Yes it's expensive, $100 per cubic yard for the material and ~$100 hr. labor. That means I didn't do it myself and at $100/yd I wasn't going to try it. Not to mention they had to get creative with covering the bezel and door cups. As you can see below the door cups were made shallower. Alcantara is not very pliable and will not cover any overly convex nor concave parts. They had to cut the gauge pods off the bezel, cover them separtly, then epoxy back together!
A local company did all the parts other than the steering wheel, E-brake handle and boot, and shifter and boot. Dallas Custom Steering Wheel did said parts and I highly recommend their services. Their customer service goes unmatched. I sent the shifter bezel as well as the entire center console to DCSW and they took care of the plastic welding of the boots back into the parts. I also had to sacrafice a seat skin to do the steering wheel. Be sure to notice the purple stitching I opted for to tie in with the Mystichrome seat leather, which predominetely shows as purple. I had a small blister on the wheel appear about 1 week after I got it back. Don sent me a loaner wheel so I wouldn't have down time, repaired his work in a timely manner, and sent it back fast and all free of charge, I didn't even pay shipping! Their business card is below and again their service is second to none!
Enjoy the pics. as far as I know it's the only Terminator with Alcantara appointments.
