I am getting ready to start my build. Spec 3+, input shaft, Kenne bell 2.6h, weapon x cops, mafia 3000 maf, metco 8lb lower, jlt high boost 2nd gen, 80lb injectors, subframe connectors, torque box braces and a 8 point cage with removable back seat brace (still take the kids to practices).I already have a fore hat, twin gt pumps, modified fpdm, bap and wire upgrade. However I want to do headers but I'm not sure if I should go ahead and go to 1 7/8 or 1 5/8. I don't want to do headers twice. Tell me what you guys think. I plan on spinning the piss out of the 2.6 if I am not satisfied I'll sale it and get a mammoth.
Thanks
CMAC

No offense dude this question is asked multiple times a week, so maybe do a little searching, even just look a few pages back and you'll find your answer.

But now to actually help you out. What size KB will you be going with? What are you power goals? You're description is too vague to answer your question. Give us some more info and we can probably help you out.

Also you never mentioned a fuel system. If you want big power you'll need at least a fuel hat and twin GT pumps, if you wana go real big you can go returnless. If you wana not go more than 600ish you can maybe get away with a BAP.

You should have titled your thread something like "Help. What size headers should I get?"
It would have attracted more direct attention.

I believe Kooks recommend 1 5/8" for under 500hp (flywheel) and 1 3/4" for 500-650hp (flywheel). However, here is an interesting write-up posted here in July that showed a KB equipped Cobra made more power and torque with the smaller 1 5/8" headers. So based on the article (copy and paste it into your word processor and print it out). http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/new-edge-cobras-51/862324-1-5-8-vs-1-3-4-headers.html

Your own application might be different enough to benefit from 1 3/4.

I have fore hat twin gt pumps and a bap. I did try to search but it is harder on my phone. This is why I hardly ever post. Anyway I will be running a 2.6h. I was leaning towards kooks 1 7/8 with 3 inch collector's but I was wandering if going too big may hurt? Next year I want to do mmr short block cams etc. Would be nice to use the same exhaust. But I will also be saving a little money for now.
Thanks

Thanks bro good read. I beginning to think the extra money for bigger headers is not a good bang for the buck.

You are right all I had to do is go in the terminator exhaust section. Blonde moment sorry.
Hold my sign I don't want to lose it. Lol
