To make the strange struts work you have to knock off he cap. The caps are tack welded on and the sleeves should slide over. Or are th strange struts a little to thin for the sleeves? I ended up with tokico adjustable drag struts. But they only have 4 drag settings and 1 street setting.

You can knock the caps off or grind down the edge. I am not sure if the strange kit you have to do the same thing you may but like I said I am not sure

I didn't get strange because they don't fit the MM C/C plates and make a lot of noise on a daily driver. I ended up buying tokico drag struts. They fit the UPR sleeves.

I got a killer deal on the strange stuff and I know of the noise's associated with the plates lol . I like the Tokico's that you got just couldn't spend the cash on that setup at this point. I have a call into UPR now and I am sure i'll figure something out tomorrow. Thanks for the help for all i know I have to knock the cap off no matter what. I am also going to call strange tomorrow and ask if with there setup the cap removal needs to be done if there answer is yes then I guess I just saved myself 200 bucks and will reuse the UPR stuff I already have.

I dont know if the strange coil over sleeves require the same amount of work as the UPR ones. I dont think I have came across a thread that spoke about that particular set up. Other than that you have a nice project going on and are making fast progress.

Stripe design- We spent all day going with all different design's ghost flames, boss stripes, shelby stripes, anything you can imagine we tried. This was the final thing we tried this was also after using 10 rolls of fineline tape lol we ran out hence why the trunk stripe is a different size than the hood. The hood stripe will be the width used 3/16

Wanna see how much material actually goes into a full repaint?
Here it it and this does not include tape, sand paper, car covers and wrap paper! Oh and by the way what your looking at is close to 3k in material. Just food for thought when you all wonder why a real paint job costs so much damn money!

Color was locked down with 3 coats of clear color blender. What this allow's us to do is in the morning we can lay the stripes out on the car and mask it off with out fear of hurting the base coat. If any over spray from the candy stripes gets on the paint it can be sanded off with out fear since it will be sitting on the clear color blender not the base coat itself.

Clear baby!!!! this is 4 coats today. Tomorrow the hood and deck lid get taken off the car to be block sanded with 800-1000 to nock the stripes down then the hood and deckild get recleared with another 3 coats wet sanded and buffed. This take's all the orange peel out that you see and makes the panel even so it looks like a piece of glass with the stripes buried deep inside

Love those stripes! Love this thread, but damn you for buying a car and being able to finish it so quickly! :cryying:

I have a fund open for donations, too.. Send me some of that cash flow to Alabama so I can get my Mustang just a fraction of the way started!

:D Trust me if I told you how much I have into this you would pass out! It helped that I got awesome money for my 03 Cobra but with all the cash I had to find to do this I could have kept the 03 and paid that thing off lol. Doing everything yourself and having one of the best painter's and bosses in your pocket helps a little too

Very nice so far. Can't wait to see it all finished.

Soon man soon gonna be putting the car together over the weekend so by Monday night should have some finished pics!

So more Progress and I'll be there all weekend putting the car back together! Got the whole car wet sanded and buffed out. Every piece that was painted was wet sanded with 1500, than 2000,compounded and glazed. The hood and the deck lid were flat sanded then re cleared when we brought them out side in the sun we decided that the blue needed to be darker. The panels were then brought back into the booth re sanded with 1000 re taped and then 4 more coats of blue pearl and 4 more coats of clear were applied. The finish is absolutley fuc&ing ridiculous pictures do not do this any justice at all. It's silly just fuc&ing silly how deep the stripes look ! Monday morning the hood and decklid get wet sanded with 1500,2000,Than 3000 and compounded and glazed!
