99/01 cobra VS 2007 GT

Which, technically speaking, means that the 99/01 Cobra is the faster car.

I'd put money on the Cobra if there were a race between two stock ones, not a doubt in my mind.

You would lose...

The S197 owns the 99/01 Cobra from a dig, makes more average power, and MOST have 3.55's to make up for some of the weight disadvantage...

I like how everyone makes the 99-01 Cobra out to be 14 second cars on here. I had a swath of mustangs watch me go neck and neck with a C5 Corvette 60-120mph. Damn car must be slow.

99 without a fix = 05-08 GT. A dog 99 cobra dynos the same as a 05/08GT but it still weighs a little less.

I wish I had a video of the S197 I raced a couple months ago. I gave him a good half car hit from a first gear roll and was ahead by 55mph.

Yeah, but look at the MPH. Most S197 trap 2-3 mph less which means once you get pass the 1/4 mile the 99-01 Cobras will start pulling on them.

Purely irrelevant or the Mach 1 would never be said to be equal to my F-Body.

Take off the blinders. 05-08 GT ~ 260's-270's rwhp and ~ 300 rwtq.

Pre-fix cars were in the 240-250's, post fix cars are 270's with sub 300 rwtq.

The 05-08 has higher average power "under the curve", and KILLS the IRS cars from a dig. More power + more gear - more weight = win

Ok, you obviously do not know what you're talking about. Neither the 99-01 Cobra or the 05+ GT are slackers in the stock numbers department. I'd say they are comparable stock for stock, POST-FIX. You really think a pre-fix 99 was equal to an 05+ GT? I hope you were just kidding. Bottom line here, once again, the Mach beats them both stock vs. stock, cobra and 05+ GT is a close race, and I would probably give the slight edge to the Cobra. Now can this debate end? They are ALL nice cars that are EXCELLENT cars for modding and taking out those GM's! (sorry GM guys :beer

Dude, crack a book, did you know 99/01s have dyno'd in the 290s stock on more than a few occaisions. And don't use the modded scapegoat because the crap thats on my car hasn't upped my trap speeds any. If none of it was on it wouldn't change the outcome, if you really knew anything about these cars you would know that. Stock intake and stock exhaust on is a big factor.

My car stock other than a Bassani Catback made 287hp and 300tq at the wheels. I agree on a bone stock 99-01 not making over 290whp.

Which book did you get that from? I have posted several examples signifigantly lower WITH sources. I use the book of "reality".

264HP/266TQ Before the fix w/a drop in K&N filter.
291HP/293TQ After the fix w/a drop in K&N filter nothing more same dyno.

Ill post the before/after dyno sheets in a few.
