The numbers are low, they made you upgrade the kit for it to work, and they're charging you a crazy amount of money for it. I'm sorry, but that's just a bad kit. Anyone with questions about the problems with the kit can go here: ModFords Forum

You are right. I think I'm going to unbolt it and send it back. With the torque curve I now have (flat, flat, flat) it just plain sucks. :rollseyes

The KB kit never was about making huge numbers

It's about a FLAT TQ curve and average power and TQ accross the power band

My average RWTQ is 380 form 2000-7000rpm peaking just over 400

550 rwhp here at 6k running out of fuel... with fuel and that extra 1k rpm it should see 580+/-rwhp

The only safe way to do it is invest in internals first!! It will break without them and it may cost more to "fix" what has been broken. Upgrade internals then go with gas or a good blower setup. I run a d1-sc at 16 psi, however I cant run the car above 6k rpms with my fuel problems so I am only makinf 14psi at 6k.

I just cant afford to drop 7k on the 1.7 Kbell intercooled kit .... Doesnt mean i wont later on

and 405 at 3600 staying above 400 until about 6000sh

I thought long and hard about the ATI, I was gonna do forged internalls and a D1SC. In hindsight i still wonder what would have been with that combo

But now i am saving for Forged internals so i can turn up the boost

Now that i think about it i could have had that combo for what i paid the KB

see thats what i have done... I forged the bottom end, and now thats the blower in looking at getting... I want 10 psi to start with, learn to drive it, and then turn it up.. Perhaps

what for pistons and rods did you get and how much if you don't mind me asking?

well i paid $300 for forged probe 17cc dished pistons
(Come to find out from yall should have gotta better ones)
Paid $350 for some TMD (EBAY) Forged Hrods
(Come to find out from yall should have gotta better ones)
$240 for the block to get machined and punched out
$550 for 3k old 01 Cobra Heads (blew spark plug out of the passenger side)
motor out $300
6 hrs or labor to tear it down $600
4 hrs of labor to build $400
motor in $250

I know i have recietes totaling 2990 and still have a tune $500 and what not

Hell thats cheaper than i thought it would be

I am looking to do diamond pistons, and Manley rods. The plan is to take it to modular powerhouse for the build
