5 second trick wont turn off traction control completely. WTF Ford?

While road racing my Mustang I did the 5 second trick. I thought it was my imagination, but a number of times when I lifted in a slide at or near full lock I swore the traction control kicked in. Nearly put me in a wall once because of how violently it straightened the car.

Took my Mom's 2012 (auto if that matters) out in the snow a couple weeks ago, and sure enough if you put in the right inputs the traction control will still engage.
Not only that, but when I was very aggressive and spun the car at 50-60mph, it turned itself back to the fully on mode, as in the squiggly lines on the dash went out, and the gauge cluster read "advance track on" without me touching the button.

Anybody else experienced this or are my family's 2 mustangs possessed?

Pretty sure the only way to completely keep it off is to either switch to Fords racing ABS module which means you don't ever have TC or pull the ABS fuse which I think should stop the brakes from intervening.

It will still come on even if it is completely off if it really thinks your going to wreck it.

I've tried holding it for 8-10-12 seconds, no difference.

Yes I'm getting the advance track off light.

What is my key?

So the only way to turn it off completely is to pull a fuse, or pull a wheel speed sensor?

That sucks, because I would still like ABS.

ADVANCETRAC STABILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM
The information you want to read starts on page 215.

((Legal Disclaimer >>>) Read owners manual on how to operate advancetrac and what to expect when turned off, operate at your own risk. (<<< Legal Disclaimer))

Owners Manual printing 3
http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/12musog3e.pdf

ADVANCETRAC STABILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM
Your vehicle is equipped with the AdvanceTrac system. The
AdvanceTrac system provides the following stability enhancement
features for certain driving situations:
• Traction control system (TCS), which functions to help avoid
drive-wheel spin and loss of traction.
• Electronic stability control (ESC), which functions to help avoid skids
or lateral slides

Is the dash communicating "advance trac disabled" when attempting to turn off?

When i have advance trac disabled, I can cut some mean donuts.

The light is not the same, as that comes on with TC when it is disabled as well. Are you holding the button down while pushing the brake in a stopped position for 5-10 sec? By doing this, you will get a message displayed "advance trac off".

Not me below, but here is a vid from youtube.

Thanks guys, but I'm familiar with the 3 modes. I'm definitely getting "advance track off"

It only comes back on at speed when you lift with opposite lock applied.

I'm not trying to do doughnuts, I just want it to be me and the car on the track, no stupid nannies that kick in unexpectedly.

Like I said it nearly wrecked me when it kicked in during a big slide. It straightened the car so violently I very nearly hit the wall.

During an autocross session as well as in the light snow we had yesterday, I turned everything off and nothing was coming back on.

I think it won't kick on when doing doughnuts since your angle probably isn't aggressive enough, but I bet it would when drifting or something similar with very extreme angles.
