I found a video with a lot of cool stories about the 5.0 fox body movement. I remember always reading about these guys, it’s cool that they all got together again.

The main guy in this video is a horrible host. Very low rent.

A long, but good, video. I watched most of it. Ah, the memories!

I worked for Ronnie Crawford from 1993-95. We had some fun back then!

I was a bit behind those guys growing up as I didn't turn 16 till 1991. Read everything I could get my hands on about their exploits in racing the "new" efi 5.0s.
Still the fox mustang, racing at Rockingham on Friday nights back in the early-mid 90's and up,street racing on the weekends, etc were very much a huge part of my life. Still have my 90 LX coupe I bought in April of 1992.

That’s awesome that you still have your Mustang. I remember going to freaky Fridays at Fayetteville, going to the Rock as well. We did some street racing as well but not during that era. It seems like the racing seen around here has died, it is all cars and coffee events.

That's cool you kept it all this time. I had an '86 and '88 coupe for a few years back in the late 80's early 90's. I was the second owner of both, can't stress enough haw bad I wish I kept them lol.

I was a bit ahead of these guys with my 86 LX 5.0 notch that I special ordered in 85. It ran a best of 14.53 @ 93 on gatorbacks... I blew up FOUR T-5s in that 86. After read Cars illustrated I knew I needed a 87... I eventually ordered an 88 Notch. It went a best 13.52 at 101 on M&H tires with 14* timing and a short belt.....
I read Cars Illustrated like it was my racing bible. These guys were responsible for the Mustangs popularity in the late 80s and 90s.... I honestly know all their last names without any of them mentioning them.... 5.0 Mustang Legends!

I went to all the FFW events in Texas in the 90’s and was always at the drag strip in San Antonio.
Bought my 88 GT in Oct 92, and still have it.

The Ford engineer they had as a guest mentioned that the heads on the 86 were not good at all. He said the 85 heads and the 87 and up cars were the ones to get. I can’t wait to here more of the stories from you all. I was born in the wrong era!

Here is an interesting story... My ‘86 was fast... in fact when the ‘87s came out I never lost to even one. It probably was mainly my driving. I could always row some gears... but my buddies 86 LX notch would always get by me in third gear. He and I are still close friends today, his car was as stock as mine and he couldn’t drive as well as me.... I would get out a length on him in 1st and 2nd but he would always start pulling me in third gear just ever so slightly...by 4th he’d be just ahead and keep going.. he never was able to get a good pass at the track, but on the street he was fast! We always thought his car was a factory freak. Mine was fast (or my driving was).. but his was a beast.
    Crazy good times!
