Did you push the converter in all the way then pull it out 1/8-3/16 and get your measurements that way?

What I did was left the torque converter all the way in the Trans then kept adding spacers (only needed two per bolt) until I had 1/8th gap then slid the TC to the flex plate and bolted it up. I didn't premeasure anything I just grabbed a bunch of grade 8 washers.

I found a neat way to get the pilot bearing out and it worked really good just rip paper up soak them in water and keep stuffing them inside/behind the pilot bearing until you can't get anymore in. Then use the clutch alignment tool and pound it in with a hammer in was out in five minutes and used three pieces of paper.

Okay so the second picture up you can see how close the fitting for the trans cooler is to the trans tunnel and that's with the trans hanging there it still has to come up a good bit but it's hitting on the trans tunnel. So I went to a local speed shop and asked if they had a 90 degree fitting and I brought in the fitting I took off the trans. So I turns out it is straight pipe thread and they said no one makes a straight pipe thread to -6 AN 90 and that would help me out a ton on room. I have tried searching for one with no luck does anyone know of something that will work or where to find one it would help out so much to just put a 90 right off the trans.

That a first gen trans? The cooler lines are both up towards the front unlike the 2nd gen where the second one is near the tail?

Great pics so far ! Thank you

Yeah mines a first gen trans it's supposed to be the best gen for holding big power because it has a larger overdrive roller clutch so I'm told anyway. Also after searching the internet for a few hours I found these guys http://www.middlefingerspeedshop.com/Stuff_for_sale.php they hand make fittings for the 4l80e so everything is correct on the fitting because no one else makes a correct thread 90 and it's low profile.

Update: I just talked to Joel at middle finger speed shop and he is sending me the two fittings on tue it will solve a lot of clearance problems for me. I might not have to dent in the trans tunnel at all or very little at the least but I will find out for sure next week when the fittings get here.

I got my fittings in today and is going to save me from bashing in the trans tunnel I have to dent it just slightly to make sure there is a slight gap. If anyone decides to go this route call middle finger speed shop I highly recommend them awesome customer service and he handmade the fitting and got them to me in 4 days and that was over a holiday weekend also.

Also my custom intake is finally done and will be here on Monday so everything is starting to come together.

Well kinda I ended up finding a mystichrome with 17,000 miles for a good price so I am going to put everything into that. I already got the motor, Trans and fuel system out. Got my timing cover, valve covers, battery relocation box and other pieces sent off to be mystichrome snake skined by Brian at the powder house.

I'm not sure which lokar dip stick hughes sent me but it's to short I need to measure it. My project is sort of on hold for the time being we have been working 6 sometimes 7 12's so not a lot of time to work on the cars but I have been doing a little bit on Sundays if I have off work. But last Sunday I locked my keys in the car broke the satelite receiver plug off the touch screen radio I was trying to install and ended up getting pissed and called it a day.

I'm attempting to mount my pro ratchet but compared to killer and juicedthe ratcheting part sits a little higher than the consol and keeps the plate from sitting flat. How did u get them to sit lower? All I can figure is beating the few rolls on the floor down? Any help would be great

Well I know to get them to fit they are bending the mounting bracket on the shifter to contour the trans tunnel on the left side so I'm sure you could adjust the height slightly. I ended up buying tci outlaw shifter I fabed and welding a bracket onto the trans tunnel and I sent the height to were I wanted it. Hope that helps

Ill have to try and adjust it more tomorrow, its about an 1/8 inch too high to mount the plate flat with no trouble, ive got the shifter all the way forward against the previous shifter tunnel,. iv notched the console about as much as i can too and when i set the plate down it tried to ride ontop of the bar that runs down the right side of the shifter. I see these done underneath the plates without issue so im at a loss. If i try to set mine like i see in the picst the rear of the console or the plate itself will not seat all the way down. Wish someone would post pictures with the plate OFF
