So following up on Ford's announcement of a new Rattler model for the 2023 F-150, posted here:
We'll probably be adding one of these to the family, so I thought it would be interesting to know what everyone's engine of choice would be. It looks like the choice will be between 2 flavors of EcoBoost, the 2.7L and the 3.5L, and the Gen 3.5/4 5.0 Coyote V8. Normally the 5.0 would be my choice for a truck like the Rattler, but with the addition of cylinder deactivation and a belt driven oil pump in 2021 I'm now not so sure.
Pricing wise, starting from the base N/A 3.3L, it breaks down like this:
2.7L - $1,195
5.0L - $1,995
3.5L - $2,595
If the 2.7L is the base engine, the Rattler engine pricing should work like this:
2.7L - No Cost
5.0L - $800
3.5L - $1,400
What do you guys think are the Pros/Cons of each?
