Thought this was a thoughtful review.
I'd be curious to see how the mpg's are compared to your 2018. What motor did you have in the 2018 and and do you notice the power difference?
It's about .5mpg better than my 2018. It does have more power but it also gained weight but it's still faster. I want to get some warm weather driving because that is usually almost 1mpg better than cold winter driving and I also think that once the EB engines hit a certain spot that something changes and the mpg's get better. Like a "safe mode" or "break in" periodI'd be curious to see how the mpg's are compared to your 2018. What motor did you have in the 2018 and and do you notice the power difference?
I'm 5 weeks in and things are looking better. My average mpg is up to 21.1. I find myself trying to keep bumping it up. The truck still feels better than the 2018 and it's fast. I have a buddy with a 2018 EB with a 5 star tune and my truck will jump out and keep pulling to about two lengths at the limiter. The auto 4-wheel drive is pretty badass. The zone lighting is pretty cool and effective. The overall ergonomics of the cab are better except the shift lever and the button to open the arm rest storage. It's just a stupid design all the way around. The only other thing that takes some getting used to is the buzzing of whatever is under the hood. It must be the regen charging system or something but it's fairly loud. Braking is also a different story with the regen system. It's hard to explain but it takes some practice to not brake to hard or soft. It's about .5mpg better than my 2018. It does have more power but it also gained weight but it's still faster. And whoever designed the deployable running boards needs a kick in the nuts. The ones on my 18 were nice but I have to plan my life around these new boards because they are so slow! If anyone knows how to fix this I'd appreciate some info.
Yes. Although I'm not sure what tune he was running at the time but even a mild tune is a quick truck. I'm with you on the drive mode selector. The other thing I hate is when switching channels on Sirius manually, you only see a box with the channel picture in it instead of what programming is on. You have to push the button again to enter that channel and see what's on.So you're saying your '21 is faster than a tuned '18 3.5 EB? That's impressive. I'm at a solid 21.5 mpg with my '21 2.7 CC 4x4 after 2700 miles.
And yeah the shifter is dumb. Also I hate where they put the drive mode selector. I'm always afraid I'm going to put the truck in 4x4 when I'm driving and want to put it in sport to pass.
